Meh. The "new" movies were such a mess lore wise, dunno why I should even care anymore. The best thing we got out of em was the "Prometheus school of running away from things" meme.
The horror elements are not working for me, it's all been done better before in Alien and Aliens when it was still new. Now it's just cheap jumpscares, and yet another derivative of the OG xenomorph... boooring.

I do love the first three movies and Aliens is one of my top 5 movies ever made. This seems more aligned with the first movie (maybe even a remake? i got those vibes quite strongly, anyone know? @Shadow Reaper you mentioned it was a new story, hope you're right).
I can't help but feel a little "meh" too like @Lorddarthvik. After Aliens 3 none of the movies have really stood out but i still find myself watching them. i did notice Fassbender again though (1:15) eww, his character in this series is just terrible,, though i do have a soft spot for him as an actor.
I'll likely watch it and cross my fingers hoping for something good.

I’m a huge fan of the Alien franchise and like most of the movies. While I’ll agree James Cameron’s Aliens is the best of them, I have lots of guilty pleasure in the first AvP movie. I think it includes one of the best fight scenes in movie history, holding first place until Peter Jackson gave us King Kong fighting 3 T Rex at once.

I was trying to say, all the shots in the trailer look like scenes from Alien. Even the cinematography here looks stollen from Ridley Scott. If I were planning a trailer I think I’d want it to look different, not the same as another film.

Like Shadow Reaper, I truly love the Alien franchise...and agree that Aliens is the cream of the crop in the horror genre. I'm up for any new Alien movie and would likely see it in theatre.
Happy enough to see David return. I just wonder if he's going to be a new synthetic model or somehow the same one that was in Prometheus?
Totally forgot about the AVP movies, the first one was a fun and silly adventure, i enjoyed that too.

I know that the focus of SC isn't a horror game, but I truly hope that there are planets or entire systems that are basically a horror game. Something like Aliens or Pitch Black where there are hordes of monsters to evade and/or fight through as able.
