For me the takeaway is that we will get a 3.20 (end of year patch). I was hoping for Pyro=4.00 by then.. sadface.
That's pretty much what I took away as well. If they are talking about 3.20, that means no 4.0 this year, no server meshing...

I really think 4.0 will be at server meshing, not pyro. IMO, Pryo will come in once they have server meshing tested for one system, then they will expand to a second and add in wormholes (4.1/4.2 ish) if 3.20 exists, the earliest 4.0 could come out is April 2023

Star Citizen may be seeing some better frames with this coming patch:
I have a 1080 Ti, and there is no way I'm going to pay the scalping prices for a 3070 Ti or 3080. I'm just going to wait and see what comes out in the wash. Maybe I need to switch brands, wouldn't be the first time... but I'm seeing the same junk happening there too. Guess it's a sign of the times.

I'm waiting for Intel to enter the desktop GPU market before replacing my potato FX8350 and RX570 4gb. it runs, that's good enough for Alpha.

The chip shortage suddenly going away and a new competitor entering the market should (should) dump prices back to reality with a bump.

I have always said a competitor GPU brand didn't have to be amazing, it just had to be good enough at a price which didn't take the piss, and they'd get customers based on where we were as there was a gaping hole at the bottom of the market for a loooong time. If the Arc range had launched when it was supposed to have Intel would have got a foothold on the market. Now I think they have a tougher job than they would have had a few months ago...

Personnally I have better FPS and Higher GPU usage & Lower CPU usage in 3.17
Also, I have very little problems at Orison with Cloud GFX at MAX (both 3.16 & 3.17)
(I use a AMD Ryzen 9 3950X and a NVidia 2080Ti)
btw -> The EU Server is in Frankfurt, Germany (not Dublin, Ireland)

(Ryzen 9 3950X & NVidia 2080T1 -- 32Gb Ram)
Just flew my Hull-A (Buying/Selling on the way)

Oh YEAH! Smooth & much better FPS.
50+ on Lorville
30+ on Orison (Cloud GFX set to MAX)
80+ on New Babbage
(90 - 100 FPS on Outposts)

I just tested latest 3.17 PTU build (3.17.0w PTU.8045326). Framerate is amazing...
Up to 60fps at New Babbage, up to 80fps at the planetary outposts, more than 100fps at MIC-L1 @ 1440p

Tested on the full server. Note, that PTU environment has hundreds of traces enabled; performance in the Live environment should be even better.
RTX 2070 Super (MSI Gaming X Trio), i7 9700k, 32GB 3200 MHz, SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus

Definitely don't pay scalpers! But you kinda don't need to any more. Cards are now (finally, after what three years?) available from vendors for their 'inflated' MSRPs. Case in point here's a $950 3080 shipped/sold from Newegg with 'add to cart' available right now:
And look at this, here's my exact card on 'sale' for only $50 more than I paid for it, after waiting for 427 days in the EVGA queue for it! 'Backordered,' but probably won't be 427 days on this one!
