A fair few members have expressed interest in starting a Logistics wing once we're a little closer to the PU release.

I don't quite see the reason to join a second Org to do this, with the number of Hull ships members have bought I see us being very active in this area.

space UPS isn't needed at all. We'll handle all our stuff internally, TEST is a self-encompassed ecosystem that deals with all elements of play from piracy to bounty hunting to hauling, racing, and exploration. That makes us free from any sort of alliance responsibilities.

Having a completely separate org that specializes in one role, but is associated with TEST (either via alliance, or word of mouth) is going to prove less effective than having a sub-group within the main TEST org.

If the org controls are at least on par with EVE Online then it should not be an issue to create a group that focuses on one thing, but doesn't require members to join a different org.

Once we start getting some real concrete info on how orgs will work in the PU we'll be better equipped to handle role delegation/management.

The reason behind having multiple logistic squadrons is that if we go to war with another squadron they will be looking for TEST pilots to kill. You make a series of other squadron to hide away the logistic pilots. In EvE TEST has several wings. They have a main wing that everyone knows about and is used often. They have a few other wings that have guises as mission runners/miners and other carebears, when they can't get supplies they would wake up agents in these carebear squadrons to move supplies. The carebear squadron don't know it because TEST will use other non-alliance group to make up their logistic pilot, or get a kick back in case they get war declared.

Basically you have your logistic wing, and several black ops/hidden logistic squadron to fulfill peacetime and wartime logistics.

I understand your logic, we'll have to see if it's needed. suicide ganking probably won't happen, especially if we operate in convoys on official TEST business. Enemy orgs would have to get substantial firepower into what is in all likeliness going to be UEE patrolled space and somehow manage to destroy a significant number of shielded, armed, and escorted freighters in the short amount of time it would take for the UEE to send a battlegroup and control the situation. For the same reason we might do the separate org thing though, these good guy orgs will probably have spare vigilante characters where they can attack what they view as pirates/enemies without caring about any effect it might have on their main Org so they can continue to cultivate the whole good guy org status thing.
