So i have decided i would love to get myself a prospector.

Anyone happen to have a CCU to a prospector lying around? (from one of the normal ships you can buy right now) preferably not too expensive. (ie within 40 dollars of the prospector preferred.)

The only I got is 0$ CCU ...And are not giftable on it's own.. :\

Do like I did last sale, next time there is a sale, get every 0$ CCU you can get from ship that normaly is avail to any ship that is normaly not..
But don't do what I did with some of them melt them in the belive I could buy back a 0$ CCU, you can't if the ship you want to CCU to is not available any more ha ha ha....

I just buy back my $0 CCU from a Tracker to a Prospector, no problem

Lemme look. I think most of mine are 0 dollar CCUs, which means they can't gifted. But we may get lucky. ;)
But since it is a $0 CCU, it is not giftable. There is only one option, but I don't know if it works:
1. You gift me a DF CCUd to a Tracker, which won't be giftable for me
2. I melt the CCUd Tracker which gives me $140 Store credits
3. I unmelt a DF with cash, with VAT that cost me $42.35 USD, $35 + $7.35 VAT
4. I use $95 store credits to upgrade the DF to a Tracker. At this point I'm uncertain if a giftable DF (because I bought it back with real cash) will stay giftable after CCUing it with store credits.
5. If the CCUd Tracker still is giftable, I can CCU it to a Prospector
6. I can gift it back

Because of the VAT this process will cost $7.35 extra. Maybe it will be cheaper if an US citizen will do it. I just noticed that you also are European, so VAT also will be your burden, so a Prospector will cost you $169.40 USD standalone, CCU from a DF will cost $127.05 USD

Option 2 would be:
1. Melt the DF for store credits
2. pay an US member $140 + transaction costs
3. US member can unmelt his buyback with $140
4. US member can gift the Prospector to you

No problem. On the plus side, it'll be on sale again before its flyable! Should be. So if you have the patience, it's just a waiting game.
At any point, I can unmelt and gift a full LTI original to you should you desire. That is always an option.

if it goes up in price significantly, i might have to do just that...

Thanks man.
If I'm correct, the buyback price will follow the store price. Prospector bought for $140 and melted, buyback price will be $140. Price rises to $160, buyback price also will be $160. That is just theory. I don't melt ships, unless I can buy a ship pack with the same ships and earn some store credits or extra ships. That is how I got my Retaliator back after melting it for the Polaris.

No what you bought it for is what you buy it back for no matter what the store price is, higher or lower.
same goes for meltig if you bought a ship for 100 that is what you get when melting it even if it sell for 200 now.. ect...

So in short you can not lose or gain money on trying to melt and unmelt you have what you originaly paid in real money and that don't change no matter how you mess around in the store ;)

Edit: How ever there are ways to get for example during sale used CCU to get upgrade to a bigger ship for less money than it cost as standalone ship but it don't make it more valuable. It is still not more worth than the money you put in to it.

Hope this clear that up
