This is why I stay with the Cat. I think that she is good for hauling runs, not too expensive looking to its maintenance costs, and probably can be operated by SP + KI-NPCs. Regarding the BanuMM I doubt that.

The cost to fill the gigantic cargo ships will not be trivial. The main advantage of the BMM seems to be the ability to actually perform a remote transaction i.e. trade desk but there is hope that this will be an option for the caterpillar all be it probably taking up cargo space. The main disadvantage of the caterpillar is the cost of whatever modules they do get round to.

I still think the caterpillar level is a more sensible level to start with but maybe you can move small cargo hauls and still make a profit on the BMM who knows?

To help visualise the potential size of the BMM, here is the Polaris (155 metres) in proportion to a range of other ships. Incidentally, the Serenity from Firefly is 92 metres, just to give you an alternative comparison

At least that gives us an idea of what to expect, but as DragonHeart mentioned, it's only their initial target and may well change.

As far as I am concerned they can make my BMM as huge as they want! :D

It is a funny thing perceived value. I am not really into fighters so I thought I would just have one (the buccaneer), what with the defender also having a bed and supposedly being a more top teir fighter I thought I would melt the buccaneer and upgrade one of the dragonflys to a defender. After doing so I still cannot get over how ugly the ship is so thought what the heck upgraded it to a redeemer with my last store credits and then applied a 0CCU to the BMM. The thing is I am pretty sure I do not need or want the BMM either, because I also have a caterpillar, hull B and Genesis for hauling. Oh well hopefully I can get some CCU to one of the other 350 ships. Sadly that leaves my only fighter melted, if a cutlass blue cannot cope in a fighter will have to melt something to unmelt the buccaneer. If it wasn't for perceived value wouldn't have started playing.

BMM shall now stand for: Banu's Massive Mothership

Personally, I think increasing the size makes a lot of sense. The Ship wouldn't have fit trough the medium Jump Points anyway, so rather than having a 100m Ship that doesn't fit trough medium Jump points that anything else in it's class would easily get trough, just put it somewhere around the Idris/Javelin in size.
