While I would so love to see the reveal of a base building ship, I could also see them come up with a ship that when landed could double as a base of operations for ground forces & missions. However, in the interest of ALL of us TESTies, I think the ship below would be a wonderful addition for our org if we could change the name to "Big Willies Bar & Grill : Happy Launch Pad of TESTies Everywhere".

I love this movie.... Why do you bring back such great memories grahhhh where is my vhs player!

What can I say? I'm a history buff & a movie fanatic. While I'm not a certified bartender, I do enjoy playing around with various alcoholic beverages to come up with various flavored cocktails when possible for my friends. Cheers! :beers:

Possibilities:

Well, according to Ben, it's something we have not seen before. Not really talked about as a civilian job. So, some possibilities:
Mobile Base - designed to support surface exploration via EVA, etc. Also can land and MAYBE house ships while on the ground
Ship transport - a ship designed to transport other ships from one system/planet to another, but not capable of launching them in combat. Think of it like a car carrier transporting cars from Germany to the rest of the world.

My prediction is this: mobile, player-owned Port Olisar. Hugeass capital-like motherbase. Really big, really slow, equipped with many toilets. Shops, cantinas, w/e. Org Headquarters ship.
$4000.
If I'm right, you guys have to buy me a hotdog.

I still think its likely to be some sort of ship transporter ala the ones people use to get there yacht back from the carribean because they do not want to sail the atlantic. They have to be careful though the last one of these totally new was the Genesis and that was hardly a big success.

I think if they were going to sell something so expensive they would give out a bit more warning so orgs had time to get together to try to raise the funds for it. Also i think 4k is a bit low for something like a port olisar. If they did something like that i guarentee they would do modules to go with it.

no one said it would be a NICE version of port olisar, could be more of a drifting dump with small maneuvering thrusters, but thats more something the military would buy, usually civi stuff is much nicer. So my guess is an all around family ship, like an RV in space, not really good at anything but always just kind of there... in the way...

An Idris is $2.5k, and I'm willing to bet there's A LOT more technology in an Idris than in Port Olisar. Port Olisar is just a few hollow rooms + landing pads + shops + beds. I wouldn't pay $2.5k for Port Olisar.

An Idris is $1250........

It's £2500 with 4 fighters, 2 bombers and a refueling corvette in the Armada pack though.

;)

On a serious note I am actually leaning towards a base ship, something that lands on a planet that can act as a support station for full blown org exploring or base construction.

That would genuinely be a pretty cool idea.

well i got to talking about this on my stream...

and after talking about what a game changer that can be a civilian is, but is really a gamechanger, a mobile construction ship is hardly a gamechanger. Sure it brings some more options but not really changes the game as we know that bases can be moved and buildt.

But what can be a game changer.

What about a ship that can open short term stable wormholes. It would probably be rediculously expensive to operate and run, it might require 2 ships, one at either end. But it would definitely change the state of the game, as you can now employ alternate tactics, avoid normal lanes and traffic, and do surprise attakcs.

i think that is a real option for a true game changer.

A construction unit is still a game changer from where we are at this point. The idris battle wasn't possible a year ago... it always depend where the game is
