If we can name them like we could the 600i, I might name mine either the UEE Indianapolis OR Teddy Roosevelt based on the shape & size. Teddy was famous for saying, "Speak softly, but carry a BIG Stick." The Indianapolis was named, The Big Stick by its crew until it was sunk by a Japanese sub's torpedo after it delivered the 1st nuclear weapon to be used.
If so, one of mine will be dubbed The Willy Richard Johnson

Lol and if it is cash only limited amount available?
If it's a cash only sale, then they will be losing out on my funds, especially for this 1 ship for quite a while. Up until now, all of the ships & packages I've purchased have been for cash & that was how I was planning on getting my potentially melted ships back. Think of it like an expensive early Christmas layaway program on some expensive digital pixels.

Maybe it's what we've been asking for all along - a small-ship carrier, and it's a medium sized ship with racks along its sides that clamp Mustangs on to it, perhaps five a side.

Or its the base buildy thing.

I may be going a bit out on a limb here, but with it's name and what it implies one would think colony ship. But that doesn't smack of "game-changer" as the Starliner already kinda fills that role. So, looking for a role which has not been seen yet, I'm going to throw my guess on this ship having terraforming capabilities. That's it boys and girls, we can now make our own habitable planet wherever we want, hidden distillery planets here we come.

Okay so firstly I get the pioneer wagon train thing but just what does it do that a carrack doesn't> (the name implies go out and make your claim somewhere) I mean we know you need supplies, food oxygen etc to survive so unless it produces those it is still a limited duration ship. The carrack would appear to have most of the functionality to be a forward base as well.

Size and scale well its concept so we all know what that means plus till they build it even if a picture was accurate it doesn't mean much. Even so it is big and well that means you will be waiting for it for a very long time, most big ships are not even mentioned.

So I reckon its basically just another explorer but with oxygen extraction process for longer duration. It will include a rack for a hunting rifle!

As for price well I cannot see them adding a large ship for less than the price of the polaris its just how they have moved ship prices and depending on its actual planned size its probably bigger than the polaris. I am yet to be convinced it can do anything new let along game changing.

I'm not a huge fan of their new pricing policy. What's the Javelin going to cost when it's done?
Also, I'm really curious to know if they actually make more money selling a few, very expensive big ships than they make selling Aurora-priced smaller ones.

Sadly it depends I think the Polaris made them very happy and raised a load of cash for the project. Did they really sell that many landing craft for $400? I think all the bikes cars etc are totally overpriced as they will be so easy to get in game and offer very little, but they are piss easy to make and as long as people buy them they will keep flogging them. The Javelin and Idris both haven't really sold that well even with limited numbers implying a false rareness, they look really hard to use in game. People bought the 890 jump for well the original price was expensive but heh people paid more again!!

Like a lot I have spent much more than I should on this development and there is zero chance of getting value out of that relevant to any other game I only wish the game development was up to there ship selling.

I would disagree with your outlook on the capital sales. The Idris and Javelin have sold rather well. Both of them had their store credit versions sold out in minutes and by the end of the sales there were only a few warbond ships left. When I bought my Idris, there were 0 Javelins left and only 61 Idrises left. They has a total of 1,000 warbond Idrises for sale and all but 60 sold. That's HUGE! 94%! All 250 warbond Javelins sold. 100%!

With all the focus on outposts and ground exploration/ground vehicles I suspect the Pioneer is a mid-size exploration support craft that brings outpost modules and supplies along to establish bases. Total supposition on my part but something has to cart the modules, bikes and cars around or have the ability convert raw materials into modules and bikes and cars and this is the largest missing piece in the ship/universe eco-system to-date in my opinion.

I expect it is between Polaris and Idris sized, will cost about $750, and will be paired up with the other obvious exploration ships into a serious warbond package, with a Carrack, DangerTurtle, Anti-Aircraft Car and a couple bikes - but what the hell do I know.

I don't see how to get the size of the ship from the pic. If we knew the top Sabre were the same distance from the viewer as the Pioneer, we could measure. Looks to me the Pioneer is roughly 18X the length of the Sabre or 468 meters. That's 3X the length of a Reclaimer or Polaris.

I don't see how it could be a space exploration ship since they sold the Carrack as the ultimate explorer, and it is too small for a real colonization ship, but it could be the big mining platform they have mentioned. If half the ship were hangar and vehicle bays, would make good sense to be so big and could be used as the pocket carrier folks have wanted so badly.

Whatever it is, it is big.
