Star Citizen has tried to limit leaks from Evocati and failed miserably, so they are going to adopt stricter policies now. The timing is interesting, it is very likely that these smaller strike groups are going into Pyro first, then SQ42 pretty soon IMO.

I got 30 seconds into it...then stopped it....no

I refuse to watch it......

In anything less than 1080p

It was so much crisper after adjusting the settings.

Hmm interesting... considering the amouunt of secret CIG has kept on SQ42 since now, it could really be that they are reinforcing the NDA policy for starting the testing on it, also the planning on using small group fit perfectly in a "secret developing plan": small group to test small portion of the games means none of them will have a full and consistent picture of the game...

On the subject of leak I agree on you @Montoya, GIC should use the eager of the people to know the latest feature as a marketing product instead of countering it.
If CIG will use theys weekly show to actually show us the upcoming new feature (I mean the upcoming next patch not far far in the future...) I think the leaks will drop significantly, plus they could use this to explain what's missing to implement and the eventually future expansion plans... A really big miss oppotunity.

Why cant CIG just put a massive 'water mark' or something similar on the screens of each of the testers during gameplay, so it identies each individual?? Im sure something like this is possible and relatively easy to do.
It's not only screenshots - a lot if not all of the 400i information has been data-mined from Evocati test builds, the only way to find who's putting out that is to put out multiple different builds to multiple different teams and freeze out the one/s with the builds that contained the leaked info.

They do, but what frequently happens is people snag content out of the EVO Issue Council to share so it is harder to trace back to them (or they only leak what they put into EVO IC to give themselves deniability.)

At first I didn't even want to watch this, cos I'm on the same train as our Glorious Leader, no spoilers for SQ42! But there were non so I'm happy. Good vid!

Will be interesting to see if they can keep their secrets! If I had to bet, I'd say there will be leaks as usual. Unless they do internal testing only, with everyone being searched on entry into the testing room, there is no way to stop it. Or they can sue the one who broke the nda, if they can find the person at all, but that would be very bad PR anyways, so I doubt anything will change.

Cool... I just didn't know how it worked, tbh!

Just like maps you could change some of the wording per document and thus it would tag those who do not follow their NDA.

But honeslty why are they behind an NDA? What point does it serve besides a few weeks to a month delay on information distribution to the masses?

I didn't realise they had any information security protocols?

If they want to find out who is leaking then use a sneaky method and they will not need to nuke entire groups.
Lets say 2500 folk in the EVO group in the last two years. Some people will have not played certain builds that leaks came from and can be counted out, lets say 500 people.
From now on they can limit the group size without you knowing so, they make 10 groups of 200 folk with a hidden marker in each group( maybe a ship with an extra weapon or a green planet), If group 'A'' gets a leak, they sub divide it and spread it amongst the others.
So If I am the leaker, I am now in a group of 20 suspects, hidden in a larger group of 200 players in group B. The next leak come from group B. So my group of 20 gets split up again with
2 of us in each group. I am now in group C with only one player from my original group. ETC ETC. It gets slightly harder if you have multiple leakers but over a few builds you can see how it works.
Do the same with the issue council groups and carefully with patch notes and within maybe 3 months you can find a safe group to test SQ42 with a reduced risk of leaks. The big problem is the lack of deterrent for leakers.

Any thoughts?
