It's 35 degrees Celsius outside.
It's 30 degrees Celsius inside.
Night it "drops" to 27 degrees outside and if I'm lucky it'll drop to 27 degrees inside.

I don't have AC, this'll be just 1-3 weeks a year and I'm moving out sometime next year so getting an AC for a couple weeks seems a bit pointless. But nevertheless, these couple of weeks I'm slowly turning into a sentient puddle of sweat D:

I freeze some water etc. and use it to cool down a few rooms a bit, kinda works but it's not quite enough. Anyone got any tricks? Like real temporary low-investment lifehacks?

I hope in addition to that you do not have the army of mosquitoes I experienced many times in Finland 😉

About a decade and a half ago, we had a huge heat episode in whole France. Of course most homes are not equiped with AC since it is not necessary on normal days, so we had to apply tricks to cool the house down.

You can wet a towel or a sheet, and hang it on your half-opened window. As soon as it is getting drier, just put some more water (if you have something to spray water drops it is even better). The heat will be "working" evaporating the water, and there will be a transfer of heat this way.

Freezing water is also good as you do, but you can use it in front of a fan to cool the room (a fan without it is just blowing hot ambiant air).

And if you have shutters, close them partially during the day.

Kind of counterintuitive: Take a hot shower. The air will seem cool for quite a while after. At night, if you do that make sure you dry off well then run a fan over where you sleep but not directly on you unless it oscillates ... it can make the air seem downright cold.

Otherwise what @vahadar described is a really good method, we used to use that to keep greenhouses up to 10 degrees C lower than the outside air.

Hmm well fan work well in that case: most of the hot temprature percived is usually due to Humidity (trust me where I live 30° will be a nightmare due to 70%+ of humidity.... and no, I'm not in a tropical island... sadly).
Also come basic hurban survival trick: keep the house as dark as you can during day, if you have shutters close them but leave the windows open so hat air can circulate.
Another idea if you have windows on two opposite side of the house is to use natural air circulation: keep the shutters closed on the sunny side of the house, and full open the windows on the shadowy side, this should create a differnce in temprature to favour natural air circulation... that ofc if the two side of the house have some differce in temprature outside (even a couple of degree works), otherwise there is no benefit.

BTW since you melted how many store credit do yuou have now? Can we buy-back you as an LTI token?

35 in Finland??? Holy cows!
I got the same here down in Hungary, although officially we didn't hit 35 yet, I got a top floor apt. so it was reading 36 during the afternoon in the closed off non-ac room.
I got an AC installed cos we got guinea pigs that can't handle this heat, and also I really hate this level of heat. I'd much rather have cold all year cos you can actually do something against that...

As for cheap tricks, what the others said!
Apart from a hot shower (it works) you can try Plain hot tea to trick yourself into thinking it's colder outside. But that doesn't work for lots of ppl I know, including myself, although a few swear it's the best method.

You can also try packing the frozen water bottles (or better yet, cooler/fridge batteries) in towels and sitting on them. Do Not put them under your ass/balls if you don't wanna get sick. Put them under your legs close to your ass but not directly under it. Dunno the correct English term for that but its the thickest part of your leg, which usually has the biggest muscle mass in the human body and thus can transfer tons of heat. (We had to use the same method with hot packs in winter during my 3D classes while we were in an old converted factory building that had no heating for a few weeks in -10C weather. It works)
Just don't sit like this for an hour cos it will mess with your circulation. Do short stints, just like you would with a cold wet towel on your neck.

From my Do NOT try this at home list: mild blood thinners. Aspirin, kalmopyrin, and whatever brand name has the same ingredients. It can make you tolerate the heat better for a couple of hours, especially if you are feeling sick slow and dizzy from the heatwave pushing in. Also you should see a Doctor asap if this is the case, you might have more serious issues!

DIET can make a difference and it's cheap to try!
Along the same lines as above, just much less problematic, and I'm sure I don't have to say this, but do drink a lot more WATER, pure water!, a lot more then you usually would. NOT carbonated, sugared drinks, just plain old water!

Lay off the salt as well, and avoid all sugar as much as possible. Both will make you feel worse in hot weather cos they thicken up your blood, make your kidneys work overtime which are already getting a workout cos of the weather, and increase blood pressure. Same goes for alcohol, especially 0%alc flavored Beers which are basically just another form of sugary drinks. If you must, add unsweetened lemon juice to your water or drink zero calorie sodas if you really have to. Also a Small glass of red wine can be a good choice once or twice in the day, but not more. (It loosens up your blood vessels slightly, can increase heat tolerance in some)

Think of it this way, a humans operating temperature is around 36-37 degrees under no load. When you increase the load (example eat a jar of Nutella lol) it has to work under load and thus temps rise, thus it needs more cooling. Less load leads to less cooling needed. It's simple.

I know it sounds kinda silly but switching to lighter plain salads and lean meats or fish and skipping out on a regular Coke for the hot season can make a difference, at least it works surprisingly well for me.

One of my favorite moments of being embarassed to be an American was watching a guy scream at the front desk clerk of a Holiday Inn at Nottingham because they did not have air conditioning. He was absolutely convinced it was his god given right as a merican to have AC wherever he went in the world. I waited until he stormed off to go up and apologize for my country and the nice desk lady told me 'It's ok, he is just a wanker.'

Thank you @vahadar @Vavrik @Cugino83 @Lorddarthvik @maynard @FlyCasual @Aramsolari for your input.

The wet towel idea seems good, I'll try that, I'll try to setup a fan as well. (Well, let's hope the humidity won't spike).
Hmm, having ice in some sort of sealed container works as a dehumidifier, as humidity would condense on the outside of the container, I'll try that to reduce the humidity. Hmm, empty bottles full of water into the freezer.

And yeah, I got blackout curtains already to keep the sun out (I want to sleep in near perfect darkness and the sun don't really set around here), even taped some cardboard on one window. So I do wholeheartedly agree with that idea.

I tried the hot shower idea, didn't really work for me. Maybe I'll try hot tea next.

I might as well pop an aspiring during the hottest hours, I've been getting a mild headache from the heat anyhow.
Also, good thinking with the diet tips, really out of the box there. (Well, in the kind of sense that I would never have thought of that)

Air conditioning a possibility? I mean you’re moving but might be worth it to sell it afterwards. When it’s that hot, you shouldn’t have problem finding buyers.

What has worked for me in the past:

Close off the bathroom. Window shut, door shut. Turn on the shower set to cold, no heat at all. Let it run for 10 minutes, if your shower is a unit, not an over-the-bath thing, try to leave the door open if you can. It will be noticeably cooler in the bathroom. Live in bathroom until the warm weather passes.

There isn't really a great aftermarket for AC units here, this sort of heat doesn't come even every year, and even when it does it's just a week or two. (Well, I suppose with global warming it's been happening more often lately, but still not every year). Almost nobody I know owns an AC unit, most homes are just very well insulated against the weather outside, whatever it might be (usually coldness.) I just happen to live in one of the top floors of a rather old apartment building that has some climate control issues. Well, I'll be moving out next year or so.

I am surprised I haven't goen up in flames given that some parts of AZ have been over 115*F/50*C for over a week straight.
AZ is oppressive hot during the summer. I remember when the airport doors open into a covered roadway and the blast of heat was enough such that instead of heading to the rental car bus I really just wanted to go nope and go somewhere else. Here it has been 43C for a week and typically fluctuates between 32 and 45 as the high until late September.

The wet towel idea seems good, I'll try that, I'll try to setup a fan as well. (Well, let's hope the humidity won't spike).

It does spike the humidity. Which here because we float around 15% to 20% is not a big deal in fact lots of people use Evaporative Coolers instead of AC units to cool their house, but with your 60% humidity it doesn't seem like it would be very effective.

And yeah, I got blackout curtains already to keep the sun out (I want to sleep in near perfect darkness and the sun don't really set around here), even taped some cardboard on one window. So I do wholeheartedly agree with that idea.
Just make sure the blackout curtains dark side does not have the sun shining on it. It's amazing how much heat they can absorb and radiate into a room.

Ya, I have never found a warm shower to be that effective, nor a cool shower, and a wet towel always just made me feel wet. The headaches typically are caused by both your body adjusting to the heat as well as simply not drinking enough water. Another thing is some experience more leg/arm cramps due to sweet letching out salts and so they have to increase their intake of sodium, potassium and calcium.

Umm, what do you mean by 'dark side'? They're white, both sides. I don't see any difference in the shade of white either on the different sides. On either set (got blackout curtains for two rooms).

Forget the aspirin or any another chemial shit, in this case just drink a lot of fresh water (and I mean fresh not ice cold) and use a fan to move the air. Also slow down your life rithm as much as you can.
At least for me in those case I suffer from hot temprature due to shit climate that helps a lot, far more then an air conditioner.
