Well, you get a Carrack and a Kore as loaner ships, so really not a difference at the moment.

I think the fuel usage might be a misalignment, along the line of the MSR when it first came out, it burned through Hydro at an amazing rate also. I surmise it will be fixed soon (tm).

As the Odyssey is a mining exploration ship, I feel the Prospector (which can fit in those hanger dimensions) would be a better choice. But, that being said, the DUR does merit some thought.

More accurately, the Odyssey is a solar panel powered electric vehicle with unlimited range, while the Carrack has to stop at a gas station every few hundred miles.

I believe it can, as the Prospector is shorter than the Sabre, and only a meter taller and wider. Also, there is a shot of it mining with a Oddy on one of the illustrations.

Basically, the Carrack is superior for Jump Point scanning, charting and all around exploration. The Oddy is superior for long term mining exploration.
