In short, freesync / g-sync aren't a necessity however they do improve the overall quality of your visual experience. The rest of the advice above seems pretty spot on. I'm personally looking at upgrading my current monitor / setup. I'm running a 1070 on a 50 inch screen that's only 60hz...

I'd love this kind of game-play loop in SC. It would be super cool to be able to spend that amount of time and attention to detail salvaging ships in addition to having the reclaimer inhale the larger components.
