That's a great point, once all the bits'n'bobs on the Prospector has been upgraded (when those higher end components are available), I'm sure it will be much more pofitable with better scanners and mining lasers etc.

It may not be the top speed they are referring to... in many cases acceleration is more important, to open up a gap between you and your attacker more quickly and get out of danger. It's no use having a great top speed if it takes ages to get there.
