A streamer named ZilianOP got busted for doing exactly that. Spent months garnering over $20,000 in donations as a handicapped streamer, then actually got up out of his wheelchair and walked away live on stream. LOL at the epic self-pwn.

The one and only reason I ever started going to Reddit was for /StarCitizen and /StarCitizen_Trades. Works well enough for me as a condensed version of the RSI forums.

I'd say it's best to log onto an existing server that someone has already set up. The in-game server listing service is OK, but there are other server managers out there like DayZ Commander and PlayWithSix that are much better interfaces for finding servers. I prefer DZC, but PW6 is not bad...
