As of this time specs read "GPU (Graphics Card): DirectX 11 graphics card with at least 4GB Video RAM"

@Shadow Reaper and I were chatting in private message about this. I have an i5 machine that I'd like to limp along with for a while yet. If I can score a decent GPU for it I can maybe stop stealing time from my daughter's machine (she's always in my way when I want to fly). So started some research to see what's out there for cheap. I'll figure out a budget when I price out some additional memory for it too. At some point maybe I add an SSD to it as well. I have to fire this thing up and see what all it has in it.

My 780ti wouldn't be the fastest, but neither is an i5. I'd make sure you have at least 8gb of ram and can't go wrong with an SSD.

Let me know what you decide to go with cause I'd sell mine for cheap (It's currently sitting on a shelf useless to me)

The latest AMD and Nvidia graphics cards are inexpensive and very powerful. I got a 1060 for just over $200 (6GB) and it works very, very, well. I definitely wouldn't break the bank on the card, by the time the game is released, there will be a new generation (or two) ahead of where we are now.

+1 for the 1060 if you are gaming at 1080p. If at 1440 I would bump up to a 1070/1080, whichever your budget prefers.

I had the 1060 while 1080p gaming and it was damn near perfect. Got a 1080 when I bought my ROG.

Sadly i'm going to wait till the lineup is actually out so I can compare performance across the board. Its a tough choice to choose between 16 core 32 hyperthreaded vs 10 core 20 hyperthreaded. As he has mentioned this is definitely a game changer as price vs performance is so vastly different. And that graphics card pack that is a good deal right there for someone looking to build a middle class pc I'm curious how the vega will perform vs the 1080 or 1080ti. I think Nvidea still wins on that front but if they can make sli work well it might be worth it.

I'm personally waiting for a more advanced Alpha or possibly release before I upgrade. But I still have a 980ti, so I'm not really hurting.

I'd go for the 1060 if you can find cheap, it's a lot stronger than even the 960.

Yeah I agree with this comment they are inexpensive but will do the job anything below a 980 is just not worth it.

WOW... apparently I currently have the worst card (among those that have responded).... here I am running my GTX960 on high settings and enjoying the game... :flushed::cold_sweat::laughing:
Of all the responses my card is by far the shittist. I'm looking at a GTX1050ti 4GB. Again, I don't expect that card to run the game terribly well when it comes out either but I'd expect it to run it on minimum settings whereas the poor old GTX750 will be pushing up daises - It sounds like it's about to take off as it is now...

If one wants to run that super-wide screen we looked at a few weeks ago, can one actually run more than one 1080 card at a time and somehow splice them, so you have really fast fps? And likewise, if the cheap $20 on ebay cards are questionable especially since they run only 2GB, can you put three of them into a machine and have them keep up?

Tell your friend to save his money until November. Black friday sales will probably yield some pretty good deals so unless your friend absolutely needs a GPU right this instant, I would wait. Plus this gives him time to save more. Possibly even for a 1080 which would future proof him a bit.

@JackAvalon, I hadn't even thought of that. That's a great point, and sadly, Thanksgiving just isn't that far away at this point, is it. And we'll be lucky if the 3.0 is released by then anyway! LOL.
