Is it unethical to buy as many ZERO dollar upgrades as possible during this sale such as upgrading the Endeavor (currently $350) to a Reclaimer, Crucible, or Carrack (each one $350). That way I can hold on to the upgrade chit, and if I happen to like the gameplay of these more than the Endeavor, then I can switch over whenever I want. Granted all other upgrade chits become worthless afterwards, but they're free, so who cares?

And maybe even if I ask really, really nicely, I can switch back if I find out that I don't like the new ship.

So... devilishly delightful, or am I a shit-ass for taking advantage of CIG's flexibility?

I don't think it is any less ethical than creating an artificial demand for virtual spaceships. But really you are getting them when the ship is available so good on you for planing ahead. Even better if you managed to get a couple of the free Aurora MR to Mustang Alpha when those first came out.
