Good combo for the Genesis Starline?

Howdy pals and gals.
I finally managed to plage-back my Genesis via bug or something.
Although most people will eye roll looking at this ship, I see real potential in it.
I know it has a huge tank('s) of QF and able to jump many star systems before refueling, therefore it can cover the vast space pretty quickly, although it lacks the firepower the ship protected with 2 S7 shields (rivaled only by the Carrack) so in throaty it's possible to fly through extremely cold/hot/radioactive atmospheres where other ships just can't.
it designed mainly as transport living sacks of living meat (poor people) and some cargo capacity of 403 SCU (somewhat above Hull B) or it can be covered to carry race ships (5-6 Razor/M50's I guess).
Of course, it's possible to upgrade most seats to First class sits with beds and rich people shit. plus hanger space for their luxury tour ships or I can equip the ship's hanger with 2-3 Ursa rover for planetside tours and then charge them with 7-20 times the economy class seat price.
And maybe, just maybe it can be used the mobile hospital, not Endeavor Hope level, but abler than Cultass Red or Caterpiller with a medical module.

And we arrived at the question, what second ship I should use? I don't want to spend more than 120 bucks.
1. If I'll go on the passenger transport route, I will have to regularity travel planetside to resupply on beverages, movies, etc... although the Genesis is able to land on almost every planet I can't see how it's cost effective to land for 100-50 SCU of refreshments. So I was thinking to get Hull B, fit it with refrigerator unit (Guess it will be a thing) and use it as storage.
2. If I'll go on doing "Rover tours" should I take exploration ship like Terrapin to scout exotic locations?
3. Or should I skip on the idea of having unity ship and buy fighter and hire mercenary to protect me, enabling me to risk cruise via dangers space to cut travel time.
4. Most risked and in the lower priority is to use the ship to transport TEST Marines/Pirates. Think 300 TEST'is marching the shores of Goss II.

Sounds like you have your money making machine covered with the Genesis, so what do you want or need from a second ship?

Do you want a fighter you can go out and get some revenge with when pirates down your Genesis with all hands? (Drake Buccaneer would meet your price point well when it is available)

Do you want an Explorer you can zip out in to the void quickly to find something you can come back and pick up with your big ship? (Mustang Beta, or Origin 315p - although flight ready it is a buggy mess at the moment as is due a rework it has gone so long without any update attention.)

Do you want a second career path like mining (prospector) or repair/salvage (smaller ships not yet put to concept, but the mechanics confirmed with the Prospector and Crucible)

Or do you just want a plaything you can dive out in to the void and have some fun in? That could be almost anything depending on what your definition of fun is! :)

So what else would you want to do? :)

If I had to make that decision, I would easily go with a smaller multipurpose ship. I would be looking at the 315p, the avenger, reliant, aurora, etc. The main reason would be for an easily deployable and cheap runabout or daily driver. There will be factors like fuel costs, crew costs, insurance, and just plain ease of use.

I would imagine you would want something that can be used for all the other stuff that this game will offer. Having your income source locked down is great, but that's not all there is in the game. Some days you won't want to transport anything. You may want to run missions or do some exploring. You might want to spend some time in arena commander or dabble in bounty hunting.

So, I'm with Naffnaff. What are the other things you think you would have fun doing? Make a list and see if any of the ships allow you (not necessarily easily) to experience the most items on that list. For me though, it would be either one of the 300 series or one of the aurora series. Both can be outfitted to do just about anything, are cheap, and can be flown solo.

Not sure how the hiring mechanics will work, but I kind of doubt you will need to provide your mercenary NPC a ship to crash. Seems a bit clunky if you have to juggle ship, fuel, insurance, and a salary. Probably you will just hire a ship to do this job or that, simple and easy. If you hire a player, they will probably have their own preferred ship to crash. If you get a TESTie to volunteer, well, we can crash anything!

Might want to just try out other ships to see what you personally enjoy piloting. Melt and REC your way until you find what's fun. Start with the small boats that could theoretically could fit in the Starliner, so you could take them with you wherever you go. But don't limit yourself to only what compliments the Starliner. Maybe you are a weekend racer, miner, or explorer!

I personally will try to keep an Aurora for whenever TEST wants to run an Aurora swarm, but also a high-end tryhard fighter if anyone ever wants an escort or wants help with a tough mission. But most of the time, I expect I'll be in a multi-role boat like the Cutlass or Freelancer running missions myself, or playing Sim Citizen in something bigger.
(EDIT: Cutlass or Freelancer would fit in your price range and let you dabble in any activity.)

Seriously though, I'd have a smaller multipurpose ship, or a fighter. Better yet, I'd have one of each.

The daily costs of running the Genesis could be quite high, so your going to want something to make money with at the beginning. Something to start your fortune.

And you're going to want something to protect your assets. So a fighter of some sort.

Or maybe bundle the two together, and get something that is multipurpose but packs a punch? Like the Cutlass.

Sounds like A freelancer would be your best bet. As to which variant that can be left up to you. Standard to go cheap, Max to haul more stuff, Dur to Explore... you get the idea. But yeah, definitely Freelancer. My genesis is my prized ship because I have the exact same view on it as you do. I don't own the Freelancer (yet) but I do have many others. If I had just the Genesis I would either buy an avenger if cost was an issue, or a Freelancer Dur or Max if it wasn't. Probably both :P

I'd grab a cutty red or something - use the genesis as a medium sized medical transport - could be useful in the larger engagements, without risking it in direct fire & allows cuttys to stay on station longer.

If you're going to be outfitting that Genesis with the intent of drawing the high end customers, you might want to forego the fighter escort altogether and limit operations to certified safe space routes. If I'm paying for a first class ticket with all the trimmings, I don't want to look out the window while I'm sipping a Mai Tai and getting a foot massage and see a pilot waving to me from the cockpit of a Super Hornet loaded for bear. Hire your Genesis out to a fellow Testie(or someone you trust), to grind for cash while you go exploring in a Freelancer DUR, or anything else you think will tickle your fancy.
