I know I am probably showing my age, completely dating myself (no pun intended) but Mesher is completely lost on me. What is the point beyond a time sink for development? "In-game" relationships or a Star Citizen-esque attempt to facilitate real world relationships, Second Life in space?

I'm thinking it is a belated April fools joke.

I've spent some days thinking on it and can see no real positive or negative discussion regarding it on Spectrum, beyond the odd joke. Can someone talk sense to me?
