Purchasing a new PC for SC... thoughts?

Looking for input on specs and requirements for Star Citizen in its current state.


  • Intel Core i9 9th Gen 9900K (3.60 GHz)
  • ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4S/AC Motherboard (ABS branded)
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB
  • G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (quickly to be 32GB)
  • 1TB SSD (game dedicated, SATA III 6GB/s)
  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit
  • Liquid Cooling 240mm

Before you purchase any of the main components, wait for the next gen of AMD products to be released for sale. Even if you have no intentions of purchasing them, odds are the parts from Intel & NVidia will go on sale as well to grant you a sweet discount that you'll lose out on by jumping too soon. The AMD announcements for the CPU's should be Oct 8th & for GPU's on Oct 28th. At which point the price battles should begin.

Yup, 3070 has 20% improvement over the 2080ti and is cheaper. Not sure why anybody would be buying any 2000 series at this point.

As Talon said, wait for AMD to show their hand, there might be a price war if things are good!
