StarShip Troopers Reboot - Would you like to know more?

Announced today StarShip Troopers will be getting a reboot. One of my favorite movies while growing up and was shortly after one of my favorite books. The writers have already said they plan on following more of the book series. But sadly no Casper Van Dien,Neil Patrick Harris or Denise Richards.

"The studio is not remaking the film but is said to be going back to the original Heinlein novel for an all-new take. No personnel from the 1997 film are involved."

That's fantastic news. I'd love to see some of the action from the book transferred over to the big screen. If you liked Heinlein's book then you might want to check out John Steakley's 'Armor', another stand-out powered armour sci-fi story.

I'm not sure what they mean by 'following more of the book series'. This was a standalone novel, with no shared universe settings (unless they use Heinlein's multiverse theme and bring in characters from his other work - wow, that would blow my mind).

Huge Heinlein fan, so thanks for sharing this snippet.

The '97 movie was more of a satirical take on the book, I feel. So it will be nice to see it re-imagined in a different tone.

Oh boy. I hope it's good. The only decent Starship Troopers movie was the first one. I don't think I've ever seen a more satirical movie. I think that is totally lost on some people though.
