My plan was to start with base Aurora package, and earn my way up after release.
But... it's sooooo beautiful... It just leapt into my RSI cart

I'd tell you but my craving for a Beer right now is totally overwhelming me.isn't poor impulse control a requirement to be in Test?
That article is actually pretty reassuring for me. Some people are complaining about it never getting to a nimble pirate fightera and want to switch to the Buccaneer. But I didn't get in on the original idea of the Cutlass, I just recently started following. I'm ok with it not being zippy, I think the Red will fulfill my expectations perfectly.I've got a Blue have you seen the Shipyard Cutlass post?
The rework is going to be amazing.

This is exactly what I'm hoping and somewhat expecting after the Cutlass short stories published in the Jump Points. I really want my Cutlass to be a ship that I'm constantly removing and replacing parts on. Have a few loadouts saved for "this, that or the other".I think the Black is meant to be a small modular, cargo carrying fighting ship( Pirate ship if that's what you want it to be).
I think the Black is meant to be a fighter that can carry cargo, you can take that cargo from others or just use it for legal means. But it is kind of the base model. It will fly and be able to do some jobs out of the box but it's kind of a blank canvas for you to make what you want of it.You could probably even make a exploration ship out of it if you wanted.
That's kinda my point though. The Drakes are all advertised as sort of "make what you want of them" ships. But the Red seems to me to have a very specific role in mind. Maybe there's other things to do with it, but it's not as readily apparent as the other two.I think the thing with Drake and most other makers is they make a ship or it's variant with an intent or role in mind, but that does not limit what the ship can be.
Cutlass Black? She's a beauty.
