So here is the scenario
I have
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1080ti
Acer Predator XB273K Gpbmiipprzx monitor
AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K (GC573)
The monitor will do 4K HDR at 120hz (supposedly, I have been only doing 60hz via HDMI cables) via DisplayPort 1.4
The capture card will capture 4Kp60 HDR10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The challenge
I want to be able to play in 4K HDR up to 120hz but capture that experience in 4K HDR 60hz via HDMI
HDMI 2.0 does not support 4KHDR above 60hz. I have HDMI 2.1 cables but it doesn't make a difference other than being better cables afaik.
for the life of me, I can not find a DisplayPort 1.4 splitter that mirrors, not switch... let alone one that downsteps the signal to 4K60hz HDR.
So that leaves me with having to do what I have been doing, HDMI out from 1080ti to an HDMI splitter, HDMI to monitor and capture card.
But limited to 4k60hz HDR leaving g-sync and better fps on the table with this great bargain monitor, bought for $800 new, MSRP was around $1,299.
Is there a product or a couple of products I can use to accomplish my goals by using DisplayPort 1.4 via some adapters to duplicate the signal and downstep it on one of the signals?
edit:
This is as close as I got
