We have the option to shoot emails, and it has been used only once since nobody likes spam. It was used the day Orgs Module went live to give TEST forum users the correct link to the organization page to join.

Then we probably need different alert system. I may opt in for SMS as well in some extreme situations (like somebody attacking our home station)

I received an email, I guess you can set it so notifications are emailed.
In other news, encapsulating frozen hamsters in carbonite prevents explosion.
