Here's where I'll be placing my many experiments, as they're "completed". Feel free to use any of them. They're mostly pretty hacked together at this point, though.

That's a secret file in the game code. My guess is that it's a prototype for giant space fish, which would explain why it's so big.

It's actually one of the fish from the fish tank.

Still doesn't explain the giant spider I found.

I got a proper starfield going, still need to add nebulas (nebulae?) and a sun nearby (maybe), as well as get gravity to work properly (i.e not at all.)

That'd be great, but it's just an algorithm that determines where the stars are. I'd be crazy to try and place them all.
There's a question to ask wingman's hangar, though. Do ingame systems have consistent stars? If they next system over has a great big class-B star, does it show in the skybox?

And here's the result of the previous experiment:

The reasons behind the creation of this are many and logical. A mere three reasons are as follows:
1. Cryengine crashed.
2.I was bored, and didn't feel like recovering all my lighting work on the constellation
3.I was starting to get tired, and my judgement might have been a little bit impaired.

Still, I regret little to nothing.

Turns out that putting over eight hundred auroras in a single shot does not in fact make my computer or the CryEngine very happy.

I toned it down a little, reducing it down to a mere three hundred and thirty Auroras.

Now I just need the proper angle. Anyone got any ideas for that?

I like the angle of the last picture on your 5/0 update. Perhaps spread out the Aurora fleet a bit more to improve looks? I also may need some footage for a TEST Old Spice Commercial :)

I liked the very first angle. The last shot above also looks good. I'd initially imagined the solo Aurora coming in from screen left and the fleet coming in from screen right.

Loteus is like the second coming of an extremely creative and artistic Jesus. If the "Is it me?" poster is a single image, I'd vote for the second one, but all of those could easily be used as propaganda.
