Cargo Type to Crew Size Relations and Other Various Things!

Hey guys, Benjamin here! You all may not know me, some of you may, but I've been thinking for the past few days on what types of cargo would require more crew members and what types of cargo could be run with only one or two crew members. Let me know what you all think of the list below, feel free to edit it as you see fit.

EDit: As per a suggestion from Floating_Cloud, I'll be re-arranging this table to show what cargo would be best hauled by more expensive freighters and vice-versa. Quantity and all that, ya know?

NOTICE: I'm only covering Hull C-E, feel free to add in A and B!

Steel-Silver Category

1. Aluminum/Full load/3 crew on a Hull C, captain's discretion for escort or not.
2. Bronze/Full Load/2 crew on a Hull C, captain's discretion for escort or not.
3. Feedback/Full Load/1 person strapped onto an Aurora should be good enough.
4. Steel/Full Load/1-2 crew on a Hull C, captain's discretion for escort or not.

Gold-Platinum Category

1. Computer Components/Full Load/3 crew on a Hull D, captain's discretion for escort or not.
2. Gold/Full Load/Full crew on a Hull D, suggested escort of two (2) Sabres.
3. White Gold/Full Load/Full crew on a Hull D, suggested escort of two (2) Sabres.
4. Beer/Full Load/Full crew on a Hull D, escort by five (5) Bengal-class carriers, ten (10) Javelin-class destroyers and four hundred (400) Aurora's of varying types.
5. TESTies (Including Montoya)/Full Load/Full crew on a Hull D, must be escorted by Beer fighters.

No, no, no. My facepalm was for Reiks response (which made me smile). Your post has me intrigued, though I don't think that I fully understand your goal. Could you elaborate for those of us who haven't had our first coffee yet?

Not sure I understand OP. Check out @Black Sunder 's industry threads if you haven't already. His Rock Raider Division probably has stuff you'd be interested in. Surely, when the game has the mechanics for it, he'll be needing Space Truckers.

Something that you might want to factor in is the value of the transport vessel itself. Effectively even if empty, the Hull D would be in your Gold Category and E platinum. I would never fly a Hull E without escort unless I knew that the route was UEE protected to the max.

Also, in Eve a freighter can be scanned, so potential pirates can assess up front if the reward is worth the risk. We don't know yet if that will be possible in SC, but it would have a huge impact if so.

In regards to Cloud, this is a risk table of sorts. Essentially giving folks a vague idea of what crew sizes would be acceptable on the haulers and if escorts are needed. I'm still fairly new at all this table stuff, so....yeah! Thus why I'm asking for feedback.

I risk a Hull C on my own but a D and E will likely need some kind of escort even if it's just one or two hornet/sabre to get the baddies attention.

Also - scanning to find out what cargo is on the ship? What do you think that big radar dome on the terrapin is for! :D
