Hey man, if you're ever feeling low and just want to talk on a personal level, hop on Discord or PM me. Want to play a game sometime? Just let me know. Anyone here would offer the same. But, I mean it! If you ever wanna talk I'm here. Sometimes life just throws shitbricks at you, but the human species is more resilient to just giving in. We have an innate willpower that goes above and beyond. You posting here means you're extending a hand for help, which is one of the best things you could possibly do and takes a lot of courage. So, props. Anyway, just know I'll be rooting for you to get your ossim cert and will continue to laugh and read these awesome posts by the best members of any organization I could have possibly joined.

Being depressed sucks. I had a pretty bad 2015 medically and I almost gave up. Keep your head up, things will get better. Sometimes it takes some time and it can be a fight but muscle through and you will see they there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Also, if you can't get out of the funk you can always talk to a doctor or therapist. Sometimes we need more help than we know. The important thing is to never give up and if you need help get it. If you want I'll give you my number and I will be more then happy to listen.

Been there, felt terrible and I'd often stay up at night looking at the ceiling alone with all the fears I had. Best way to get yourself back on track is start with the small things. First thing I did was stop using elevator and climbing the stairs to my apartment, then no more busing, then jumproping daily. All these little things you can do will be a regiment to build your life back how you want it to be.

Second if you can open up to someone who knows you, opening to us was completely right but we can't help as much as someone who really knows you. Could be your family, co-worker, even your boss, etc. They will help you out knowing its the right thing to do :)

Thank you everyone for trying to help out. Im taking it day by day and reading the forums helps a little with all the humor everyone has. I really appreciate it.

Thats the plan.
Thank you for trusting a bunch of alcoholic drunk fools that can't pilot an aurora to confide in. :)

@Sk1dmark Some helpful tidbits I've used successfully.

Step 1) Get everything in your control prioritized then sorted (on a sheet of paper brainstorm then action plan), realize everything that isn't in your control cant be helped.

Step 2) Where (physically) do you feel depressed, try and pin-point a spot or general area, stretch / do some vigorous exercise that works on said area. Chill out watching TV in a Epsom salt bath as hot as you can take.

Step 3) Chocolate. Lots. (Add in your choice alcohol) The darkest chocolate you can self medicate with. If depression is severe seak medical help, if milder try Adding St. John's Wort (weak MAOI) for a week. 1/3 dark chocolate bar 3times daily for 1 week.

Step 4) Go outside look at the stars. Just spend some time checking that out. Let your mind spool down and find that calm quite from the vastness of the sky. Let everything fall away as you look up. Remember that you are loved by an awesome community of people that will fly around the stars with you :)

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is how the saying goes, but that doesn't seem to fit the resolve and constitution of my fellow TESTies - for them, the maxim is "When life gives you lemons, make the lemons your bitch."

When I lost my father I screamed, cried, slept and spent 4-5 hours in the car listening to country music and other music he liked (I "never" listen to country otherwise). Luckily I had stopped throwing things when angry as I really wanted to throw my TV out the window.

That was an extreme reaction not having spoken to my father for months and I try to find other things to do, like seizing the moment and go through some of the sad movies I haven't seen yet (they keep getting postponed since you normally don't want to sit there crying man tears if you don't have to). My main problem is they make more good depressive movies than I feel depressed, but that's a first world problem I guess.

Might recommend Me and Earl and the Dying Girl which I saw yesterday, quite decent movie. Also plan to watch The Fault in Our Stars. A classic would be Schindler's List. Precious is a movie I bought several years ago but still haven't been depressed enough to see.

While such movies can be hard to watch they usually also offer alternative ways to look on a difficult situation.

Not sure if this a good place to post this but anyways I've been having some personal problems lately and just need some help staying positive. One of the only things that is keeping my head up is spending a week in the Morro Bay area getting my Wildland S212 Cert. I'll hopefully be coming back with at least my A Fallers rating. This is what i'll be learning.
Wow, that looks pretty cool, I wish you all the best with your endeavours! :)

And if you ever need to talk about anything, there'll always be someone here, me included, that'll be willing to listen to you in as much confidence as you wish!

In the meantime, here's a cat! :D

As someone who suffers from sever depression due to some physical and mental things about me and other "fun" stuff, i struggle to stay on the positive side, but just try to be happy, i know its hard but its possible.

Red Panda's always make me smile, so here have some panda's

Just remember to do what you love, no matter what, try new things and get out and about, try not to stay stuck in one place that will let you dwell on your negitivity

Thanks again everyone. Ive been feeling better today. I had to drive to San Diego to take a written test for San Diego City Fire Department. The change of scenery helped to clear my mind and bring a sense of joy to me. Makes me want to do that much better with the hiring process seeing as i want to move there now.
