Picked one up with store credit to try out. I heared they a bit nerfed lately and not in a good way?
Define 'nerfed'... It still doesn't have the agility it started with, but otherwise its a very viable PvE ship. No heavy is a good choice for PvP, although a well-manned Scorpius can do above average.
Ok cool I will put some more laser repeaters on and give it a go. Thanks.
Honestly, I'd suggest just leaving the weapons stock. The laser repeaters will strip shields fast, and then the cannons wreck. The Mk 3 Tarantula can penetrate 5 meters through the target, applying damage to a volume of just over 2.5 cubic meters which is outstanding for taking out components.
I'm not a fan of the stock component fit; that is definitely are area in need of improvement.

The F8A is designed to be the supreme combat fighter. Everyone should be interested to own one. Methinks you think insurance too important. You will likely spend many times more on NPCs.
Have you looked at what the F8A can do? Loaded with 6 NDB30 and 2 Revenant, it does 6700dps with twin S2 shields, 40,000hp and the nimbleness of a medium fighter.
Nothing else comes close. It is the only god tier fighter.

This is the F8C not the A. The Vanguards that we have are current issue military fighters. My wife and I also each have a Hawk, Sabre (which is mil-spec) and F7CM Mk II (All with LTI).
We have no need to spend much on NPCs. Throw a blade on the Vanguards, or the Blues and they work just fine and we fly with a wingman, or crew together or bring friends.
The only ships my wife and I have with a crew of more than two are her MSR, My Redeemer and my Retaliator, and those are for times when we want to fly with friends.

It just occured to me (fast thinking as always) that CIG has a Auspicious Lighning Paint on sale.
So obviously they sell the ship to paint it on.
In other words it should be gone from the shops again once the Red Festival fades away.
At least until Invictus comes along.
