Space combat? You are immagine it wrong....

Great show. something to think about, but water may not be needed to just to drink or to provide shielding (blocks cosmic rays better than metal), but also as a heat dump as it takes a lot of energy to heat water up. Plus you can do a phase change to steam for more energy absorption.

Crytek wants to sue later, CIG says nuh uh

Who said people were logical? Humans do a lot of things based on the heat of emotion, and some of those things can end up being poor decisions. CIG uses this very concept to drive ship sales. Again, it’s all speculation on our part. We have the redacted court filings, but really, we don’t...

Crytek wants to sue later, CIG says nuh uh

Let’s be fair. Crytek might have assumed that Amazon would not directly license previous versions of CryEngine and only go with a full Lumberyard license and no previous versions. After all, it’s an older engine with some much newer engines out there available for use, including CryEngine...

Good news for the Mole in 3.8.1

Yes, your mining display has two types of scans. A Ping and a scan. I think your RMB is a ping, but when you get close, you can actively scan using your LMB in scanning mode, for areas with lots of rocks, you need to point at the rock you want to scan.

IIRC, armor will be a damage reducer. It’s not just more HP, if someone is shooting at you but each gun does less than the armor’s damage reduction value, those guns will do zero damage, it’s like trying to damage the armor of a battleship with a rifle or handgun, no matter how many times...

    The Witcher is a masterpiece

My wife and I love the show. She is a huge GoT fan and loved the Witcher books. I hated GoT and could get past the opening in the books and the show after Jamie pushed Bran the broken from the widow in a song of ice and fire (or fire and ice, I forget). Yes, some episodes were ok, but....it...

Crowdsourcing Ore Location Info - 3.8

I was on Magda earlier today, and there is both good and bad there. Good in that I saw tons of rocks to mine...bad because most were all not very good rocks. I did get a full load after about 1.5 hours, but had a 30k coming into Hurston so no idea on the value...probably 50-60kish

    Holy Mining nodes Batman!

Well, it was not a great cluster. Only 2 rocks worth mining. That was Aberdeen btw. the whole haul was about 57k, but that’s because I need to be done in an hour most mornings, so no being extremely choosy.

    Lawsuit update from Bored Gamer

No, it's more about Amazon saying "hey, you sold up this engine telling us we could do anything we want with it, including licensing it to other developers. Now you are suing a developer for using it claiming it's "your code"" In fact, it's not. Amazon owns the rights to that fork....and they...

Watching some SC streams kind of makes me sad

There is some truth to that. Remember, CR has said he wants to take it to the point of realism, then dial it back so that it's fun. Each streamer and each player will have a different idea of what is fun. Some people really get off on 6-10 hour simulated flights across oceans to far off...

TEST Squadron Mining Guide - V3.8 is now posted

This is a REALLY nice guide, with it being simple enough for a beginner, and comprehensive enough to allow experienced miners to take it to the next level.

They are a foreign corporation suing in the american legal system. They should have done their homework and registered some sort of subsidiary in the US (probably DE, NY, or CA) and then said they did have a US arm and that they should not have to put up money for it.

    Mining Guide Updates Blog

I've been experimenting with two boxing a MOLE, and I think that for the way this thing is setup, it works. I had an old HOTAS laying around from 10 or so years ago where only the throttle worked, and I've set up my 2nd box so that it uses minimal graphics. I then placed my alt in the primary...

    Mining Guide Updates Blog

This looks really nice A question I have for you on the last table for SBM... Would you recommend extracting a rock that was 100 percent quartz? (this may be guide 3.9 stuff) What percentage of the "always mine" stuff would you put as a lower limit for extraction? 50 percent, 25 percent, 10...

    Lawsuit update from Bored Gamer

Hahaha To me, this is Crytek trying to claw back the bond. at this point, CIG can use the bond as leverage...dismiss all claims with prejudice and keep the bond (or a good portion of it), dismiss without prejudice and pay our fees to date, or go to trial. this is not a case of no harm, no...
