It depends whether you can scan while moving. If you can, a fast ship with a good range can often scan larger amounts of space in a given time than a slower ship that scans a larger area. You want to optimize based on the precise game dynamic and we don't know what it will be yet, but speed is...

Well the thing is really you want other people, people you don't know; to sacrifice their ships to this endeavor.

Agreed. The same will be true if someone tries to push their views about abortion or drug use--it does not belong. This has nothing to do with people being able to "handle civil discussion". Everyone who viewed this thread and thought it belonged before the stir, was wrong to leave it in the...

Do you apply this kind of sensibility to all human history or just the bits you don't like? I am just wondering what they teach in schools these days. So you don't believe in studying history at all?

I was thinking about this last night and wondered how this might relate to the notion of building secret bases. I did this in SW Combine for several years and it can be fun, as well as fantastically useful. If for example you want to explore Krell space, you might first build a hidden asteroid...

I think you'v got it backward. It is not until recent history that such obviously deficient behavior had the sympathy of sufficient portions of society, that they were even considered for conversation. When someone starts a thread in a gaming forum, presuming that people will agree or shut up...

I'm waiting for scan stats for making any decision here. I did a ton of exploration with Ailon Nova Guard and I know that a large scan radius is super worthwhile, as is a good top speed if you can scan at that speed. I'm not sure the ships smaller than a Lancer will scan enough area to make...

Why are ships so hard? (this may be a shitpost)

Has anyone tried to put the Warlock package onto a Titan, or the tractor beam onto the Reliant? Last I saw both wingtip ports on the Kore were for equipment only, so no weapons. I am supposing this is one thing different with the Tana, and I am still daring to hope there will be a Reliant...

I think the mods are probably going to be limited by what ports show up on the ship. So only weapons ports can take weapons, you need an equipment port for various sorts of equipment, etc. This has me worried, since I want to put the Warlock's EMP Generator in the back of a Reliant, but there...

As stated above by you, no one believes that is the issue. And just use some common sense. Laws never reflect hidden intent, they judge behaviors. If this argument were on it's face fruitful, one could make the very same argument for any reason they liked. "Oh, I'm protesting how the government...

Anyon can find a definition they like and form an argument from it, but what you are doing is called "assuming the consequent" and it is a form of logical fallacy or mistake in reason. I recommend any freshman critical thinking class to correct the problem. Most people learn not to do this by...

I'm not belittling anyone. I'm standing up for the vast majority who think nudists need to keep their nakedness to themselves. We draw a distinction between public and private for good reasons. That is the law and will remain so for as long as there is anything remotely resembling civilization.

Why are ships so hard? (this may be a shitpost)

My guess is it will not be possible. I have thought what a great ship the Freelancer would be with the double engines of the freighter, S5's of the base model, scanners of the Dur and Missiles and targeting systems of the Mis, but I doubt very much we will be able to build that.

You asked a conceptually confused question that has no proper answer. When you begin asking adult questions instead of acting like a child, I will answer them.

When you take it upon yourself to correct 6,000 years of human experience as distilled by tradition, the onus is on you to make your case. The nudists have never done this so we are right to not take them seriously.

Is there any reason you can't mix and match the Warthog stick and the X55 throttle? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Saitek-Pro-Flight-X-55-Rhino-Throttle-ONLY-/252439330436?hash=item3ac68e7e84:g:6ocAAOSwM4xXcAyc

I dunno if anyone has said, but I have watched a few vids of the Freelancer in action. While difficult to defend, it is a kick to watch those big guns hammer opponents.

I do appreciate your attitude that if you're not part of the solution, you'r part of the problem, but it is not my life's calling to try to right every wrong in society. We all pick and choose our battles and we need to, for there are only so many hours in a day and so much of our heart to...

Why are ships so hard? (this may be a shitpost)

The Freelancer is the largest ship that can fit through a small wormhole, and should provide a much larger scan area and general exploration capability than the 300 series.

Why are ships so hard? (this may be a shitpost)

I think about it as the same dynamic history records with fighters attacking bombers during WWII. The fighters almost always won. The bombers would group together and cover each other with their turrets, but bomber crews in WWII had the lowest survival rate of any form of service in that war...
