    Arduino question

Yep. that's pretty much the only limitation for most people, but you can also build your own sensors and actuators, motors etc. It can be a fun hobby if you can get into it. If you have the right tools, you can even build the Arduino devices yourself. That includes the Pro Mini by the way...

    Arduino question

That depends on your imagination or need, and ability to write a sketch. It helps if you know at least the basics of C++, or some other object oriented programming language - but the instructions at https://www.arduino.cc/ starts you off from scratch. It can be a lot of fun, and an...

Did you know you were part of "toxic fan entitlement"?

This paragraph says a lot. Highlite is mine but the text is all @ColdDog. We need to break the mold as a community. That is going to take some effort, and maybe some pain but it is exactly what is required to fix this industry. Fuggin well said man!

Crytek vs CIG - Settlement Conference date set

If you have bouncy parts, trust me you certainly don't want them covered by steel in space.

How To Carry a Weapon in an Armistice Zone in Star Citizen

Thanks for this! I sense a "holy cow, this works" moment in your past. Why stop there? There's an entire solar system to dominate!

Magazine cover from 2000, 1ghz amazing!

We didn't call them laptops, they were "portable computers" Except at ~20-25 pounds and up, they were more "luggable" than portable, and that was the name they inherited. Lord that brings back memories.

Magazine cover from 2000, 1ghz amazing!

Flashback. ^KS ^KQ The first graphical game I played was Flight Simulator, using a 512Kb RAM and 2 floppy disks PC, with I think a Hercules monographics card. The monitor did shades of green. It was great.

    Proposed Test Squadron Entry Exam

I was the manager of a large manufacturer's service department for a while. I've seen regular people use these methods to remove crayon from a monitor: Since crayon is just paraffin wax, you can use a petroleum based solvent such as naphthalene. If it doesn't work right away, light a match...

Time just flies when you are having fun. LOL

They all spy on you, that's how they do spam filters (...the excuse...). There is a way to minimize that, by running your own secure SMTP server, but that doesn't stop any relays from spying just the same. E-mail is not really secure.

I only have a problem with step 5. It keeps crashing. But I have a question, is it ok if I bite the crayon?

Liberty pack and Independence pack on sale

This is all very subjective opinion ... I do not have a good argument for the Blue over Black, though I tried for a long time. The Avenger Stalker to me seems to be a better designed ship for pursuit and capture. The Blue is more like a prisoner transport. The description of the Cutlass...

Barry indand - Stay safe - Lots of rainfall

As a former (and possible future) sailboat and catamaran guy, and current Houston area resident... I watch these things develop by force of habit. This storm has a lot of hype as the first landfall of the year in a very sensitive area, and it is not without danger. Folks in the direct path...

    Ship upgrading idea: Flagships

It's a good question, but I don't think it's weird at all. It's not a question of balance issues to me, it's what have you done with the ship you just removed the parts from? Are you scrapping it? In real life, that's generally what doing that kind of thing means, and the process is...
