    Citizencon 2022 gear (Resolved)

Has anyone got the Citizencon gear in their hangar yet? I just checked my hangar and it isn't there yet. I'm just trying to figure out if I need to file a ticket.

The front "wheels" are further apart than the end of the ramp, at least last time I checked.

I looked there, and checked each of his posts, which is why I asked which you were referring to. No worries.

If it was as far along as they tried to imply, 3.18. I was, personally thinking it belonged in 3.19, but 3.18 or 3.20 would work. The HUD has required a rework since 2.5 (at the latest) and needs to get rid of the flash. They have a working HUD, just use that and differentiate in later...

I agree, especially the "let's see it," part.

They have ship archtypes for intended roles. That is already done. That is all they need, they can differentiate and balance in iterations (like they were supposed to do after 3.14). In the mean time, like "low speed combat" and the "apocalyptic change" shouldn't they be finding out if the...

We have space combat now without those systems fleshed out. Adding those systems will flesh out space combat in an iterative way. The annual rewriting the entire flight system has definitely gotten old.

My mistake. I misunderstood them talking about circle straffing large ships. Nose to nose DPS race circle straffing is at least as boring as jousting, and uninteresting. That is not "positional combat," or "choices that matter." There are much more interesting options, but Star Citizen seems...

The HUD, change doesn't really enter into the new flight model. Which comment are you referring to, other than him saying they were doing SQ42 ships first?

Well, technically, since the Cutlass ramp is trapezoidal not rectangular, the Cyclone doesn't fit there either. The Collison mesh is more rectangular so the Cyclone can get onto the ramp, where is shouldn't be capable of doing that.

The part of the segment that made me really shake my head is they are talking about positional combat and no more circle strafing while they show a Gladius and a Hornet circling nose to nose in a DPS race. That isn't "dogfighting."

The "rest of the ships" are numbers in a database that any intern could enter in a couple of days, and it could be proof read within a week. What relevant systems are there for this? We already have space combat. If its not going to work, it is better to find out sooner instead of later. The...

I was left with two questions. 1. Is this the final vision for space (and atmospheric) combat? 2. Why isn't it part of 3.18 or 3.19 at the latest?

I seriously believe the biggest problem with Star Citizen development is there is no clear definition of what "done" looks like.

You missed part of it. They aren't building the system for investigation missions, they are just concepting how they think these missions should work. Calling it fully functional is a bit of a stretch. It didn't appear to be more than a 3D printed lump of plastic of what a game designer, who...

Almost every panel whined about the quarterly release schedule, which they never hit anyway. Then there was the constant, "we've got it, we've personally played it, we love it, you can't have it and we won't really show it to you, but trust us," crap. As long as people keep buying shiney...

There is a piece of software called Astrosynthesis, by NBOS, it works with another piece of software called Fractal Terrains by ProFantasy, which, in turn, works with a piece of software called Bryce, by Daz3D. You could have 1000 fully fleshed out, complete with height maps for every planet...

If there were a "Blue" version especially at $5 over the Price of the Cutlass Blue, I would have been tempted for a CCU. It'd be more Lucy and less Razorcrest. I'm glad it doesn't have one.

The really stupid thing is they aren't just reinventing everyone else's wheel, but their own wheels as well.

One other thing I noticed in the planet tech segment. They are still building tech I was using for planets and terrain 15 years ago with better results. This was rendered January 2012.
