I really, really want to like this game.

My burn out is based on the unprofessionalism, the stupid levels of feature creep and the attempts to BS us, the backers. I worked QA for a 3D Graphics Company from 2007 to 2011 and then ran Software QA for that company from 2011-2016. I look at the crap they let through and have to ask...

I really, really want to like this game.

I really want to like Star Citizen. Last summer when they delayed the release of 3.0 they said it was due to stability and because it needed more polish. It turns out neither polish or stability are all that important to CIG. We had a 3.0 delivery that was not ready for prime time. With no...

    BUK questions

After Noobifier did a video titled "What the BUK" CIG issued some clarifications. The difference between a BUK and a Combo pack, at last word is nomenclature. Pick the one you like the color scheme of and get the other combo kits/BUKs. Note at last sale there is a price difference depending on...

Is Killing Justified in Star Citizen?

I prefer the simpler version that is Maxim 13: "Do unto others." The 70 Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries. http://schlockmercenary.wikia.com/wiki/The_Seventy_Maxims_of_Maximally_Effective_Mercenaries

    Guns. Good or Bad?

I have been around firearms most of my life. My first experience firing a rifle was when I was 6. In the army I qualified expert with pistol, rifle and machine gun. I have fired revolvers, bolt action and semi-automatic pistols. I have fired single shot to fully automatic long arms. Rocket...

    Squadron 42 Newsletter email annoucnement!!

I believe Gropo is used by the Brits. (Well the Brits and Babylon 5.) Starship Troopers used Cap Troopers and Apes. According to the book because of the method of insertion and because of the a apearance of the Marauder Suits they wore. "Come on you apes, you want to live forever?"

    Question about people/troop transport

For the moment since the Tali carries none that is very correct. With two cargo bays the Tali should carry, based on size of the bays, between 100 and 130, (The old specs said 128 but I think that is a little large.) which puts it above the Andromeda but below the Taurus.

    Question about people/troop transport

One of my CO's did his ROTC advanced training at Bragg. They did a Battalion drop for their version of the "Million Dollar Minute." One of the C-130 that was demonstrating LAPES with an M551 had the M551 get stuck, so he lifted the nose and it came out end over end. Losing vehicles like that...

    Question about people/troop transport

Funny thing in 3.0.1 The Connie and the Tali are the same size. The Connie is faster, in a straight line, but, at least to me, feels heavier for maneuvering.

    Question about people/troop transport

You better control the orbit before bringing it in. :)

    Question about people/troop transport

Not a US Plan but the US did LAPES M551 Sheridans out of C-130s. The Soviet Union did parachute drop PT-76 tanks. Everything is air droppable, at least once. :)

    Question about people/troop transport

There is room, but you have to load the forward bay from the rear and the rear bay from the front. Unload one bay at a time, or face a traffic jam. :) Also not something you can drive on in a hurry, it does take a little maneuvering to make the corner and line up.

    Question about people/troop transport

LOL. Still not a good dropship, unless you are dropping the containers from orbit.

    Question about people/troop transport

The Cyclone is 3 meters tall according to the specs. The Ursa is 3.5m tall. The current Spec sheet though has the Cyclone as 6 meters long and the bays are not long enough for 2, if that number is accurate. I was definitely not suggesting tanks, especially not the Tonk. LOL. The Tonk doesn't...

    Question about people/troop transport

That was how it was described. However a major difference with the Retaliator, both bays will have to be emptied into the elevator area due to the gear placement and the intakes on the back of the Tali.

    Question about people/troop transport

A Retaliator Cargo Bay is longer than an Ursa Rover and the forward bay should fit one of those. (I have driven one under my Tali.) The rear bay should be too narrow for an Ursa but wide enough for a Cyclone. Of course since the Tali has to be reworked before it can be made modular and the...

    Question about people/troop transport

Just because there is no atmosphere does not mean there are not things there worth fighting over. The obvious being mineral resources. You can't always put a unit down right on the target either. Sometimes you have to maneuver to a target, which is likely to take hours, especially if you are...

    Question about people/troop transport

Completely unrealistic, especially if you have to take into account suit breaches. No Military is going to accept that limitation on GROPOs.

    Question about people/troop transport

HALO, really? Heinlein did it best. Drop pods and automated retrieval boats, dumping a platoon from the smaller ships and a Company from the bigger ships of the fleet. Oh and they were in Marauder Suits, or what CIG is talking about with "Titan Suits." Warhammer 40K has had their versions in...
