The card is going to a younger (special needs) family member that would like to get into SC and join TEST. I know it would raise questions why I would seek the card otherwise. Also, for the record it is a $4100 rig :)

Ghz is just a bios update. A super small overclock in CC or afterburner will push it hard. A stock 7970/280x can push 1100-1300 core pretty easy

Quite a jump better than a 270. 7970 is a 280x
