    The Need for Multiple Speeds.

The part of the segment that made me really shake my head is they are talking about positional combat and no more circle strafing while they show a Gladius and a Hornet circling nose to nose in a DPS race. That isn't "dogfighting."

    The Need for Multiple Speeds.

The "rest of the ships" are numbers in a database that any intern could enter in a couple of days, and it could be proof read within a week. What relevant systems are there for this? We already have space combat. If its not going to work, it is better to find out sooner instead of later. The...

    The Need for Multiple Speeds.

I was left with two questions. 1. Is this the final vision for space (and atmospheric) combat? 2. Why isn't it part of 3.18 or 3.19 at the latest?

I seriously believe the biggest problem with Star Citizen development is there is no clear definition of what "done" looks like.

You missed part of it. They aren't building the system for investigation missions, they are just concepting how they think these missions should work. Calling it fully functional is a bit of a stretch. It didn't appear to be more than a 3D printed lump of plastic of what a game designer, who...

Almost every panel whined about the quarterly release schedule, which they never hit anyway. Then there was the constant, "we've got it, we've personally played it, we love it, you can't have it and we won't really show it to you, but trust us," crap. As long as people keep buying shiney...

There is a piece of software called Astrosynthesis, by NBOS, it works with another piece of software called Fractal Terrains by ProFantasy, which, in turn, works with a piece of software called Bryce, by Daz3D. You could have 1000 fully fleshed out, complete with height maps for every planet...

    Crusader Spirit

If there were a "Blue" version especially at $5 over the Price of the Cutlass Blue, I would have been tempted for a CCU. It'd be more Lucy and less Razorcrest. I'm glad it doesn't have one.

The really stupid thing is they aren't just reinventing everyone else's wheel, but their own wheels as well.

One other thing I noticed in the planet tech segment. They are still building tech I was using for planets and terrain 15 years ago with better results. This was rendered January 2012.

The "Im not spending any more money!" thread

I didn't see anything that says they've earned the money I've already spent, much less a reason to spend more.

It sounded more like a pitch meeting for initial funding than a progress report. Lots of "we want to do this." None of "this is done," or "this is ready to roll out."

The "Im not spending any more money!" thread

I haven't spent a dime on my account since they blamed us for their lack of progress. We spent $35 on my wife's account, to finish out a chain. Nothing since, and nothing more unless/until they actually finish something, probably a bit more than that.

Pyro coming in 2023? Where's my Liberator?

If we are talking about The Expanse, I want the Rocinate and a squad of Martian Marine Force Recon troopers.

Pyro coming in 2023? Where's my Liberator?

CIG has been talking Pyro as coming soon for a while now. The only way the Starfarer works in this role is if a properly manned Starfarer is escorting fighters. So the "PVPers" will need to "git gud" and "hire escorts."

Pyro coming in 2023? Where's my Liberator?

Oh, trust me, I get that. But the Liberator was pitched as being essential for Pyro. It calls into question if they are serious about releasing Pyro this year.

Pyro coming in 2023? Where's my Liberator?

Pyro was supposed to be barren, mined out, environmentally very hazardous, and basically empty. They've apparently retconned some of that, because, I guess, they've needed to show something. But it is still supposed to have large distances between fuel stops and not supposed to be a pleasant...

    Persistent object streaming

That is not what they told us it was about. It was about inventory, and about persistence, and would even allow for multiple systems and unlimited people per server. It was the "Jesus patch" that would allow everything to work and let additional systems to be added 3 years ago with patch 4.0.

    Persistent object streaming

Oh, I'm not saying have only one database, though in this case, it appears to me, that the personal inventory and inventory of what gets strewn around and left behind, seems like the same thing. I'm saying they made a big deal of this being the job of SSOCS and how SSOCS was separated from the...
