I'm excited about the prospect of CCP moving Eve Online onto a much needed new codebase
I reluctantly gave up on Eve when I realized their gameplay would always be stuck in the '90s
twelve years has been a long time to wait for Star Citizen to deliver on an improvement
this
I want the game to give scope for creativity and choice
but I also believe self-destruct should cost the character far more than the worth of the ship and its contents
you should have diminished capabilities in your new incarnation
is this the Vaping for Wellness meeting?
no?
well, there certainly seem to be plenty of folk determined to get their minds right in various ways
I feel like I fit right in here
big thanks to Dear Leader for taking the time to make a summary that saves all of us time
while I am totally onboard with the new priorities, I wonder
if they slow down the release schedule for new ships
will CIG be able to afford to complete the game?
another thing Eve Online's devs learned early on was the need for Organizations of Orgs, which they termed Alliances
in such a scenario in Star Citizen, TEST would/could/should be an Alliance
you are hereby nominated to be Designated Shitposter
in accepting, your assignment is to Shitpost here randomly each time this thread falls off the homepage
in order to make our never-ending stream of Noobs aware of our forums' Greatest Tradition (this thread)
in Eve Online the mission runners and folks doing other types of PVE spend their Spacebux on expensive upgrades to optimise their productivity
they don't put those maxed-out ships at risk
the PVPers go for whichever ship has the best stats for its role in box-stock trim
you want fast, cheap...
so TEST morphs into an alliance, an umbrella Org
we can set up out of game comms if we need to supplement game-provided tools
just require members of the guild-aligned Orgs take a Blood Oath of Loyalty to our Dear Leader, and then tax the Orgs for the funds to build stations and starships
all...
all we've done here gamewise since 2013 is speculation and theorycrafting
I'm not psyched up any more, and I've learned more patience than I want to know
happily, the social aspects of TEST make the wait not only bearable, but fun
amen to the 20 Mhz '286, that was the spec of the first PC I built. But I splurged on a second Mb of ram and an 80 Mb HDD. When I discovered Wing Commander I added a 320x480 Hercules graphic card with an extra serial port for a Logitec joystick. Wireframe Hotness!
