I've been having a blast with it. I love it, I'm getting solid frame rates. It's amazing. The only complaints I have are grenades are inconsistent, which is fine it's alpha they'll figure it out, and I can't figure out how to heal and I keep bleeding out! I smash "H" but nothing happens! What are your thoughts? Do you know how to heal? Do you enjoy it or would you rather have crusader back? Lemme know! Also I got a new graphics card finally and starting Monday December 19, I will be streaming Star Citizen:D

How's the lag? Noticed it was jumping around alot on the fps portion of the live stream. I guess we still gotta wait for 3.0 for that.

Anyone know if the 2.6 on the PTU is the build they're going to push to live? Only reason I ask, read the patch notes and it kinda seems like a gutted 2.6 from what has been (I dont want to say promissed) talked about since its reveal.

I got the same thing with the healing! I tried using a health box on the wall, it turned green, I bled out. Tried pushing H after using the box, same result.
I've played some Elimination on Demien to get a feel for it, it didn't go well...

So far it's pretty disappointing for me, probably because I have lag (I'm far away from the server with a ping of about 180-200 instead of 50-80) and get disconnects after 5 minutes or so every time. I haven't checked if there's serious packet loss, but it didn't seem like it at first, no twitching/ghosting/rubberbanding that I could notice. But...

About 2/3 of my hits don't register and I always lose in a face-to-face shootout even if I start shooting first by a second or two. I even loose in face-to-back shootouts! I've emptied full clips into heads with no effect, just to die a second later in seemingly 2-3 hits. I've met a few ppl with the same ping that I have, probably ppl from around here as well, and I could usually kill them before they noticed they were shot at. Same way I ended up dying most of the time I guess.
It seems like the system will work, but still too much of what's happening is covered by the server, so any delay or network hiccups will have serious repercussions, and that won't be fun in the long run.
So this brings me to the question, is this a game about bullet sponges, or the other kind with about 2-3 hits max in heavy armor and your dead? I can't tell with all the mess I experienced

Movement feels laggy, with the slow "realistic" transitions from still to moving and back. It's feels really slow, with way too much inertia. Every time you start moving the head goes down as the character leans into the run, but it's so slow, and exaggerated that I feel like controlling a giant, very heavy mech, not a human. Maybe it's realistic and all, but it's just not that fun for me at the moment. Maybe I've been playing too many twitch shooters lately, so this is probably something I'll change my mind about the more I play.
The headbob is gone, I feel like watching through a very high-end gimballed gyro stabilized film camera. It's cool, but I could live with a tiny little bit looser stabilisation, or the occasional bump so it doesn't feel so artificial. A slider in the options to set the tightness of said stabilization would be the way to go.

Grenades are fun! Half the time they roll away, half the time they land at my feet, stick to my physics grid and I get blown up by em no matter how much I run away lol  I guess that's also a network issue with packets not arriving in time to update the physics properly.
Framerate is pretty much a rollercoaster, but I can't tell how much of that is down to network issues (think like in 2.5 universe) or actual graphics/cpu overload. Star Marine does a decent job or running between 25 to 60 fps most of the time (1060 6gb, i5 3.5ghz, 16gb ram, ssd) but it keeps stuttering whenever someone shoots, dies, throws a grenade... Really if anything other then movement happens, it stutters, and if many things happen, it keeps stuttering so much that I can't really do anything effectively. As I said before, this probably has to do with network stuff, as singleplayer stuff runs at 60+, just like it did in 2.5

Edit: Forgot to say that the sound system is abysmal! Shots landing right next to you come from all over the place, as well as the sound of steps/running. It's almost impossible to make out whats going on by listening. Also sounds for all these keep cutting out/missing in action a lot of time. The sounds in themselves are not bad at all though! A bit rough around the edges, a bit raw maybe, but good quality stuff, I like em!

TL.DR.:
So, my first thought about Star Marine are: Hmmm, while it needs a lot of fine tuning, this could be interesting once they fix the networking and optimise some of it, just not yet.
