350r Racer LTI -> Anvil Hornet -> Cutlass Red still LTI?

So I've got myself hooked with the purchase if a 350r Racer with LTI.
And recently I bought a Drake Herald, also LTI.
What they both share is a complete lack of Cargo space.
I'm wondering if I should convert my Racer into the Cutlass Red, where it's roomy medical bay can be converted into storage room when needed.
But will it still be an LTI ship after the two step conversion?

Or should I wait incase a nicer ship is released, and convert to that one?

If you cross chassis upgrade the new ship will keep the old ships LTI. Just remember in this specific situation that you can't reverse CCU or CCU to a ship that's worth more dollar wise. Also the Cutlass red isn't flyable yet whereas the 350 is. IMO just wait on the ccu as there will be plenty of time to do so in the future. There will also be plenty more interesting options when 2.0 is released

Keep the 350. It's limited, it's fast, it's flyable right now and it's ton of fun in AC.

Get the Red later.

I'm somewhat in a same boat. I have Super duper Hornet that I don't like. I plan to melt it for Red in the future. No sense doing it now, however as SH is limited and flyable while Red is neither.

I consider 350r to be the most pleasant ship to fly with. It will also be one of the best if not the best interceptor in all Star Citizen.

Personally, ive melted my super hornet and cutlass blue and see my 350r as a goto ship for when im not doing specific tasks like mining or cargo hauling. (you wont be doing that in a hornet or cutlass ether)
Plus, given that it has identical haul to all other 300 series ships, it should probably be possible to convert it into a bounty hunter or give it some cargo.

If you are not into playing space doctor, there are better alternatives than Red. Cutlass Black has more cargo space and much better guns. Or if you want to be the ultimate cargo hauling badass, try to score the Freelancer MIS. Either from aftermarket or wait untill RSI releases it again.

Or get both. I will. MIS for general badassism, Red for making up for being a badass.

I'm a sucker for support roles.
My Red will serve as designated driver spaceship, driving drunk pilots back home.
But I also thought the red could be emptied and serve as hauler?

We sure need designated drunk driver in TEST.

And yes, Red can haul stuff for sure. 120 units as standard is not bad, only 12 less than the MIS.

350r is a blast to fly. Having the fastest speed in the game is a huge advantage, imo. Not to mention the insane strafe-boosts you can get in the 350r. At this point in development, I feel it is the most capable ship in high-intensity moments.

I have this belief that a skilled pilot in a really fast ship (350r or even m50) will always have an advantage over a SH or another mid-speed dogfighter, assuming the pilots are of equal skill in their craft of choice.

Also, I'm pretty sure the 350r can be modified to allow more cargo, at least when the game finally reaches that point.

I basically just second everything pepper said above. The 350r is a real treat to fly. I have a hard time wanting to fly anything else now. The speed, the badass maneuvers, and the decent loadout to go with it make it my ship of choice.

Only thing that sucks about the 350r is the thruster/helmet bug in AC.

Just some interesting numbers pulled from the RSI forums about why the 350R in particular handles so well.

For one thing, naturally, it has a bit over 2x the thrust of a 300i or 325a. (3100 kN of force for 350r vs 1400 kN of force for 300i)

Secondly, all of its 12 manuevering thrusters are TR3 rated. Each of the 350Rs maneuvering thrusters puts out more kN of force than Auroras, Cutlasses, and Hornets main engines.

I think CIG is running into serious problems where they have to massively overcompensate maneuvering thrusters to make the ships steady. Some of the ships with a "crappiest" handling- Aurora and Cutlass, are some of the few ships without massively boosted maneuvering thrusters. (Cutlass in fact, is FAR FAR below where it should be on thrusters, its 2 main engines are putting out TR2 levels of thrust when they should be TR4s, and the maneuvering thrusters are equally severely underpowered)

Just some interesting data, explains a lot why some ships slide like greased bathtubs, and others are super tight and snappy.

I for one, await the day that all those hornet and 300x pilots wail and moan as they witness the true power of this fully armed and operational cutlass blue!

All joking aside, once the thrusters are working properly and we get multicrew, I suspect that hornet pilots are going to have to actually watch their backs when facing off with a cutlass.

I'm also looking forward to implementation of fuel and armor. Sure, that 350r may fly circles around everyone else... for five minutes. But then they've got to come in for fuel to feed those massive engines and thrusters. In addition, they'll probably explode if you shart in their direction, meaning you only have to get lucky once.
