I use Kratom supplements sometimes to help deal with abdominal pain I get sometimes which can be severe. I have a lot of scar tissue and it really fucks me up sometimes. Been hospitalized 5 times with small bowel obstructions. Probably over a month in total. 4 times in the last 3 years. In the hospital they give you tons of opioid meds through the IV like Dilaudid which is Hydromorphone and they usually give me a small oral Tramadol, Hydrocodone, or Oxycodone prescription when I go home.
However, that shit is highly powerful, highly addictive, and has a lot of side effects. I've also become tolerant of it because I've gotten so much of it while in the hospital. So, I searched for natural solutions and I discovered things like Kratom, Kava, and Akuamma. I've used Kratom more than the other two. It's a plant related to the coffee plant from Southeast Asia. Been used for thousands of years there. It's also used for anxiety and depression. At smaller doses it's a stimulant and at larger doses it's a sedative. There's a ton of different "strains" of it all with unique effects. It really improves your mood too. You could probably say that it gives you a very low level understated "high" of sorts.
The DEA just tried to "emergency schedule" it which means ban. They said because people were going to the ER from poisoning which either means they are morons or are totally full of shit. I don't think it's dangerous at all really. Alcohol would be 100 times more dangerous than Kratom. Amazingly, they temporarily retracted the ban after a large public backlash from the public and some lawmakers. I still think they will ban it because they are assholes and serve themselves and the pharmaceutical corporations though. People also use Kratom for getting off of opiates and dealing with opiate withdrawal. Ironically, if they ban Kratom I'm sure tons of more people will die from opiate overdoses than already are. I know if I can't use Kratom then I'll probably have to go onto pharmaceutical opiates (which the pharm corps would love) because I won't be able to get any pain relief when I have pain.
