After watching the star citizen mocap stuff I wanted a chair too. Had a pallet in my garage and a few hours after the kid went to bed and was able to come up with this. I think the results could be replicated on most chairs. Total cost was 12 bucks for the red canvas to cover the chair. No good yellow stuff and the goal was cheap.

I have a friend who has done it with a car seat, and made armrests with HOTAS in them.

That's what I needed the armrests for. This has worked out pretty well. The only addition I need is attaching the x52 to the chair. Wobblyness is down 90% and beer space up 200%! Enough space for my mouse as well but it does get in the way when using the sticks.
Looks like I'll be adding a test pirate logo. Found some decal stuff in my mess of a garage.
