As per the norm, I am watching vids of activities rather than performing them myself because I can leverage greater expertise in other players and view their edited results, saving enormous time. Unfortunately, on the subject of crafting I’m unable to do even this because the vids are often 8 hours long.
I’m thinking of Space Tomato’s almost 9 hour vid I am not going to watch. Instead let me recommend this 2 minute vid and make a single observation.

Test is in an unique position to leverage its fantastic size, in order to gather and craft the best materials, and because crafting yields products of such superior quality compared to what can be purchased or looted in game, it will really pay to collaborate. I’m not just talking about a recipe list, or stockpiling quality materials, but working together so that TEST and only TEST has the best weapons, the best armor, the best mining gear, salvage gear, exploration gear—you name it. At present, the benefits of crafting improvements are so significant that they can’t be overstated. Guns that kill in 3 shots instead of 4, armor that protects from 2 shots instead of 1, mining that takes less time and yields better quality materials, salvage the same, etc.
There’s too much to know for me, as I am a “kill things and take their treasure” kinda guy. Someone here though, someone may get the calling to become the Crafting Guru, who can organize an org wide effort and save us all repeating each other’s efforts. Any organization that allows us each to specialize in collecting a single item, is going to yield org-wide benefits. That means less time crafting, and more time enjoying the benefits of crafting.
