So many of you know erkul went through a radical update a couple weeks ago, and their mobile version (the one I use) just after that. I can only speak to the mobile update--it sucks. I can’t imagine how anyone can consider it an update. I am guessing it is a shoddy placeholder for something much better. My disappointment with it has caused me to lean in hard with its rival, the Ships Performance Viewer at spviewer.eu

Some of the details at viewer are shockingly more useful. You can compare ships. You can get lateral acceleration rates, which are more telling of maneuverability than just rotation rates. One key thing is you can address power to components directly with bars, same as a ship.

For my part, this last has been really eye opening. You don’t need to unplug components to shut them off, and the figures spill out much more naturally, begging you to believe them, whereas erkul has always spit stats at you and dared you to disbelieve. Viewer seems more trustworthy and reliable.

So of course, when flying a Paladin on a single active stealth reactor, on just one engine bar (16%), and I get zero IR and 268 EM, I really want to believe it.

Crazy.

I do recommend y’all play with viewer. Church out the real stealth craft numbers. They can be all kind of crazy if you shut off things like life support. You can get detailed, profound answers like how to fly the Basher inside precision weapons range but invisible to any target.

No, I’m not joking. Go look see.
