You're going to Krell as part of a 30+ Test team looking to trade and get access to hot new technologies, in a convoy centered around the Javalin class Bad Breath, and a couple Banu Merchantman transports. Lets say the Javalin has good scan so you do not need any Carrack class. What other ships do you bring?

Remember, ships require players aboard at all times, or they will be taken away or destroyed, so you really want as many players per ship as possible with the only exceptions as single seat fighters. These however need to be stored aboard the Javalin. Lets say it has room for 12 small craft. What are they and what else is in your FarTrader convoy?

maybe a couple avenger titans, that would help give you some protection and be able to ferry cargo and personnel back and forth between ships if needed.

30+ people?

All right let's just say the Javelin and Merchantmen are already staffed, so you got 30 escorts to divvy up.

1 Star-G for fuel and act as a quasi-gunship if need be. (6 people)
2 Redeemers for fighter-swatting and projection a "no-no" zone around the t (8 people)
1 Cutlass Red for picking up any ejected pilots (2 people)
2 Gladiators for either missile spam or torpedoes (4 people)
2 Sabres for Scouting (2 people)
2 Vanguards for taking down bombers.
And then the remaining 4 in either Buccaneers, Super Hornets, Sabres. Whatever pure fighter they really prefer. For use in intercepting smaller craft, general dogfighting, etc etc.

Great answers so far, but no interest in E-Warfare? Seems we would need to see at least one Warlock or similarly equipped Reliant, or a Herald or a Sentinel. And are two stealth ships enough, or would you rather see a wing of Sabres fighting together and able to sneak up on a target as one? There is some value in limiting diversity.

As much as I love the Redeemer and Cutlass, I am not sure I would include them. Is a Redeemer worth 4 or 5 Sabres in a hairy fur-ball?

Was it this thread people were talking about a combination Ghost/Tracker Hornet? I doubt we'll see that or they would not have offered them as separate. The whole notion of something that is hard to see but sees well is what I am hoping can be done with the Reliant, but no word as to whether that much equipment can be put in the cargo bay.

2-4 F7A Hornets
2 super hornets
2 ghost/sabre for recon
1 tracker/herald for scans
2 vanguards any variant will do but if needed can equip for anti-ship or swap with a retaliator
1 Starfarer for refueling
1 Crucible for repairs? or does a Javelin handle that I'm not sure
2 Gladiators
2 Gladius

Toss in a couple hull ships size will vary on what you think you need. This is just me tossing stuff out at random not a lot of thought process behind it lol, but to me this is a trade mission so I would focus on defensive abilities if this was more of a recon or military type mission I would definitely swap a few ships for more bombers, e-warfare and gunships/dropships. Assuming a scenario where you will most likely be defending and not attacking so to me Hornets are great they can take a pounding and do not need to go to far from the Javelin and you can use the big guns and turrets to mop them up, to me this is where recon takes a big part I am assuming we are trying to avoid a major engagement as its a trade mission so recon would crucial and we can just avoid the large encounters, hopefully.
