Guild Wars 2

I spent all of 2 seconds searching for a thread, and found nothing. So here it is!

I recently downloaded Guild Wars 2 again and wanted to reach out to the community and see if anybody else plays.

Guild Wars 2 is now free to play with an expansion to purchase.

I highly recommend this game as an MMO to play. The community is very much active and they have fixed A LOT of negative marks about the game.

Who else plays? Who would consider playing again? Redownload it! I would love to group up!

I played during the beta, bought it when it went live, sunk countless hours into it, capped several crafts, finished the story missions up to Zhaitan, and... ran out of shit to do. The intro storylines didn't interest me enough to go farm up a thousand alts, RvR was ho-hum at best, there was no real endgame content unless you wanted a bow that shot rainbows or hated dragons enough to stand around for hours, and all of my friends had gotten pissed at Author-Self-Insert the Plot Hijacker and their Wacky Hijinx with Other-Deus-Ex-Machina-Tree-But-Villain and promptly quit. I left shortly after with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

Sell me on this new, more-freemium Guild Wars 2. Did I get the expansion for free because I bought the game at release, or are they expecting me to come back and pay money because the game is free now?

I'm not bitter.

I used to play before I found SC. I joined a nice guild Lunar Knights.

There are basically three tiers in the new game model.

-Free
-Core (Purchased Game)
-Heart of Thorns

The free accounts are limited across the board, but still have access to a lot of the game. The core accounts is like you and has access to everything but the expansion content.

As for content...they have added a ton since I last played. I'm overwhelmed honestly. There are Raids, fractal of the mists ('leveled' dungeons that increase in difficulty and reward), They've added 7 or 8 new lvl 80 zones. PvP and WvW were amped up and feel a lot better now.

All in all...I am very much into GW2 now.

I highly recommend coming back to it!
