Mercury hype. A lot of speculation is a Crusader combat ship, hence the name Ares (God of War, known in Roman mythos as Mars).
A fast, long-range competitor to the Vanguard (single person, bit cheaper?) to act as a buddy for a Mercury would be ace.

I'm pretty sure it's intentional, though whether it's troll or lowkey building hype I'm not sure.
But see how Ares is the only ship that has anything resembling date or possibly task completion next to it? Seems deliberate to me.
