So, I've been lazy in upgrading my computer. My video card is pretty good (GTX 760) but my processor (AMD Athlon II x4 630 and my RAM (6 GB) are holding me back.

With that being said, I am damn near broke. I was wondering if putting in a few more sticks of RAM would actually help with SC (to start).

If not, I will start saving for an i7 or equivalent and motherboard.

Thanks for your input friendly TESTies.

Well you do need more ram haha I would say at least 8gb personally for gaming I always recommend 16gb minimum but thats not mandatory. What motherboard do you have? if its good enough you could actually get a really good cpu for this for under $200 :)

Honestly, I have no idea. I've not looked at the thing for a long while. Its nothing special. It was a very cheap replacement....

you can use this tool to see everything about your pc. Because if you have a good enough board you can upgrade what you have pretty well for not a lot

Ok I just looked it over. Your board can take 8gb of ram and its not worth upgrading your cpu.

So it sounds like the extra 2 GB of ram really wouldn't be worth it until I can get a better Motherboard either.

Thanks for helping out guys!

Yeah I would just save up for a new build or just get a new motherboard and cpu

Thanks guys, I have to be careful where I order from though seeing that I am in Canada. I may go with a local guy if he can come close to online Canadian site's prices.
