My RP'ish Plans - Care to Collaborate?

I've been planning to write a story based in the SC universe. Let it be clear, I am not a fanfic writer in general, but I feel that this universe is fleshed out enough to try my hand at a genre I've steered clear of in the past; sci-fi. I have shifted my focus to waiting until the mini PU drops mainly because I would like to write some of the exploits I see around the verse (my characters or others) into the tale itself.

With that being said, if you're interested, I would love to hear your tales. Starting now.

What I am looking for to start is the following:

1. What was your first experience when loading into the game for the very first time. Your thoughts as you saw your ship sitting in your hanger.
2. What are your goals moving forward. Do you plan to be a spacetrucker? Pirate? Advocate for the little guy? Miner? What are your aspirations? Have they ever changed as you've participated in the development of the SC Universe.
3. Finally, why does your character care about what goals you've decided for him/her? This question really only applies to those who have fleshed out a background story, but perhaps it will prompt some to do so, which is always a fun exercise for those who RP.

I am not asking for help in the writing of the story, nor am I asking for money (though if you want to it never hurts lol). I am only asking that you share some information about who you plan to be in the Verse to help me create meaningful characters in my tale.

In return, I will give you your choice of being named in the story. It can be any name you want, so long as it isn't something along the lines of Captain Assmcfart. Please keep within some semblance of a naming convention.

I am sure I will be hearing from some of you soon.

3 : I usually don't write backstory for online games, only for tabletop rpg, so I didn't think about it.

Not exactly what you asked for, but it kinda came to me when I saw your questions. I think it manages to answer them in a roundabout sort of way.

Y’want to know about the first time I clapped eyes on a ship? Well, there’s a few tales I could tell ya. ‘Course, it’s a little hard to speak at length, they keep it so dry in here. Oh, you’ll stand me another round? Right charitable of ya, right generous indeed.

Ah… so what is it you’d like to hear? The first time I ever laid hand to stick, ever flew a ship? Well that’d be my da’s 200 series. Origin stopped making them about 40 years back, so y’can’t find the things anymore, but my pop had that one tuned as sweet as a ship can be. He was a small-time courier, running items between folks who’re willing to pay to get things there yesterday. My ma had passed on before I could ever remember her, so he usually brought me along, ‘less he thought it was too dangerous. In midflight, he’d let me unstrap from my crash couch, and come up to the cockpit. I’d sit on his lap, and he let me steer the ship while we were out in the black. Those were the best times of my childhood. ‘Course, one of those times he left me behind, he never came back. Navy patrol did a quick sweep, but never found anything out there.

Or maybe ya wanna hear about my time flying in the Navy. Naw, I was never one of those hot-shot fighter jockeys. No, I did my tour as a Retaliator pilot. Those old boats didn’t fly too fancy, but they sure could take a beating… and if you dropped all the torps on one target, there weren’t enough of the poor bastard left to fill a cargo crate. My last run, we ran across one of them Vanduul ships that had been sneaking about, tearing up the local shipping. ‘Course, we ain’t know who the Vanduul were then. We got a call from a convoy that was flyin’ nearby, beggin’ for help against unknown attackers. We jumped in, and wouldn’t ya know it, there’s dozens of them! Our escort started tanglin’ with them, while we set our sights on the big ship. They had defenses so tight, we had to practically hand-drop the bombs right on top of them. The blast blew out half the rad shielding on our boat. They weren’t too happy with me for the damage to my boat, but they couldn’t exactly chew me out since I had managed to pop the bastard, so I ended up getting a medal, and an honorable discharge. Suited me just fine.

Or mayhaps you’re wanting to hear about the first time I flew as my own captain. I took my payment after they cashiered me out and dropped it all on a used Freelancer. Bastard who sold it to me ripped me off, too: the q-drive gave out on my first flight, right after I cleared the jump point to Terra. I managed to patch it up and get there, but I was 12 hours late and the extra charges and repair bills ate up every last bit of profit. Still, I kept flying… and y’know, aside from that first trip, she never gave a bit of trouble? Oh, I had a filter or a seal go out every now and then, and there’ve been issues that needed fixin’, but she’s never left me stranded like that first time. I could buy me a bigger, fancier ship now, but I’d rather have my battered ol’ ‘Lancer over the ritziest 890 on the floor.

First, I'll have you know that my maiden name is Assmcfart, of the Pahrump Assmcfarts, and we are a proud clan! Now, onto your inquiries:
1) I was conceived, born and partially raised in the aft compartment of an Aurora. I always thought it looked like an Aurora because I had nothing to compare it to. Then I went to an art deco diner in Miami Beach. Now when I see it squatting there in my hangar I think,"hey, that thing looks like an art deco diner I went to in Miami Beach,only smaller. Much smaller".
2) I spent many years in the Navy in small, elite aviation maintenance units. I rose to a very high rank, but like many warriors, I grew weary of battle after seeing too much(for instance, have you ever tried to get a coffee stain out of a leather Aurora seat? I have, hundreds of times! And they just kept sending me back in!). So I left the navy, but that left a burning hole in me that I didn't know how to heal(at first I thought it was an ulcer, but the doctor just said I was an idiot. Not going back to HIM for the prostate exam!)Anyways, with time, I came to realize that the burning hole might be healed by money, and maybe fame...oh, and of course, BEER! So that is my quest: Haul anything around the universe for anybody to make a pantload of money, use the aforementioned money to explore, do sciency stuff, get famous and buy beer(and lottery tickets).
3) Why does my character care about what goals I've decided to aspire to? I actually think my goals are a bit pedestrian, and just about everyone has the same goals at one point or another. The big difference here is, I have 5 spaceships to help me make my dreams a reality.

Like I said, my story is probably a bit run of the mill for publication, but you may use all or part of it in your narrative. And you may refer to me as Carlos Spicyweiner or Captain Dark Matter Gunslinger. I don't use my maiden name anymore because people laugh for some reason and I find that undignified.
