So I just built myself a new computer, literally pulled out all the stops for what I wanted in it, minus the graphics card. Here's my current build.

VideoCard: Geforce 680 FTW LE 4GB (3GB rec'd)

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K Six-Core, Socket LGA2011, 3.3GHz, 15MB L3 Cache, 22nm (Retail Boxed) (BX80648I75820K)

Case: Corsair Graphite Series 760T White Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Windowed Gaming Case with two 140mm white LED fans (CC-9011074-WW)

CPU cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler -- for Intel LGA 1150, 1155, 1156, 1366, 2011 and 2011-3 & AMD FM1, FM2, AM2, and AM3 (CW-9060020-WW)

HDD: WD Black 2TB 3.5" SATA 7200RPM 64MB Hard Drives (WD2003FZEX)

Mother board: ASUS X99-A/USB 3.1, Socket 2011-v3, Intel X99 Chipset
• DDR4 3300MHz, 3x PCI-Express 3.0 x16
• GLAN, 8 x SATA 6Gb/s, 5 x USB 3.0, 8 x USB 2.0

PSU: Corsair HX1000i 1000W 80 PLUS Platinum Certified, High Performance Power Supply (CP-9020074-NA)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz CL16 Quad-Channel DIMMs - Black (CMK32GX4M4A2666C16)

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5" 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/AM)

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (MZ-75E500B/AM)

SSD: Samsung 840 PRO 250GB SSD

My question is, is it worth it to get a 1440p monitor + a new card now? a 980ti 6gb + asus 27" 1440p? Or just wait til Pascal Q1? My video seems fine so far (we will find out for sure with fallout 4). I feel like waiting those 4-5 months for next gen cards would be more beneficial....but would a upgrade now still hold its own? Or would waiting be worth it, thanks!

What are the advantages of buying now? If you wait, you can get the new, better technology. If you buy now, you are locked in and miss out on the new tech. A 680 SHOULD be fine for fallout 4, but if it isn't, then maybe you upgrade now

I would say wait and see how well it does fallout for you. Its a super solid card you have. Though if you end up needing more horsepower now, an 980 ti will last you a long time too. It may not be 100% directX 12 but it has and will have the important parts of the technology. :)

just wait, 1080 is coming out soon and it fixes a lot if not all of Nvidia issues on the 980ti. I would say see what artic islands have but since they just found out the can make their chip on 14nm... its up in the air how long it will take to get to customers.

Great Build, I would wait for pascal architecture to come out, get the best bang for the buck since you'd be going all out. A GTX680 would do not so great, but it would'nt be that horrible either but if you cant wait anymore, A GTX 680 would be a good fill-in till the next architecture comes out.

Gtx 680 does'nt hurt your wallet as much as a 980Ti :)
