Security is important... especially at home and work. Make yourself a hard target... and remember anyone can be hacked, so why make it easy.
1. Use difficult passwords - I will typically look around the room and take two items such as a picture and shoes... I will combine them and add one or two special characters plus a number. Ex. Copenhagn#8vase! - this example has absolutely nothing to do with me.
2. Use a password keeper like Norton Identity Safe
3. Lock down your router... block the ports you do not use.
4. Get a security device like Cujo to block unwanted traffic or malicious behavior.
5. Do not save your passwords in your browser for items that could cause damage to you... like SC.
6. Resign yourself to the fact that your info is on the Darkweb, ready to be sold. Once a year change your passwords for your bank account and other items.
7. Do not click on links in your email that you do not know... this is the #1 issue organizations have for malware and ransomware.
8. Use https to protect yourself.
9. Use common sense.
10. Use 2 factor authentication when you can.
Lets make the web safer. This is just a short list. If anyone has more ideas or methods they use, just chime in.
