Optimising SC / for SC

So I've recently gotten back into SC after about a month, (partly due to 2.0 PTU), and I've noticed that I'm getting lag spikes/freezes, screen tearing, and framerate drops which get worse the longer I play. I'm not sure if this is the game or my own rig, and was wondering if anyone has any advice to get this running as smooth as possible.

My specs are:
Intel i-7 2700k @ 3.50GHz
NVidia GTX 970
8GB RAM

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's the game and updates should be rolling out soon :P though you may want to install more ram :) not necessary but could give you a little more breathing room when it comes a game not being optimized

Lol or at least if not on an ssd plug in a fast flash drive and use readyboost, works pretty well if you have a speedy usb 3.0 drive
