a buddy of mine is picking up a freelancer max so we plan to make cash by doing high risk cargo runs.

The freelancer is nowhere near large enough to be considered a corvette, in either tonnage or volume. Closest analogue would be be the missile boat; a cutter or smaller sized warship designed to, well, fire missiles.

I'm planning on using my retaliator for armored cargo runs to buy back my redeemer and a cutlass or other small hauler, which will be my er'ryday ship.

Yeah you're right I should have called it a PT boat. It's weird comparing the smaller ships to actual naval vessels and I'm having trouble knowing which classes each would fall in concerning space.

That's because most of these ships aren't UEE navy designs, and as such do not have a classification that ports over easily to our terrestrial naval ships. I find it easier to look at what the ship is designed to do and then compare it to something that has a similar size "class" (relatively, the freelancer happens to line up nicely with a lot of real world missile boats in size) rather than trying to shoehorn it into a classification that it might not fit well in.

Merchantman : Commerce. I will not be exactly 'picky' with what I ship. Shielded cargo units might be required.
Mustang Omega : Fly into Stuff!

Herald : Something with LTI that will get the CCU treatment at a later date.
Freelancer MIS: 90% sure it'll be melted for credit for carrack
Aurora LX : giveaway ship
Super Hornet : Holding for my sister
