Constellation Aquila:
The Aquila can be summed up into one word, Exploration. Foregoing weaponry for a dedicated science turret, jump point sensors, fuel tanks, Ursa rover, and trading missile racks for more sensors tells you just how dedicated this ship is to going boldly where no man has gone before. Only one other ship (of bigger size) is considered more capable of exploring without support than this one, the Carrack. But that Is a discussion for another day as to that ship.

Foregoing armament for a specialized role is very apparent in just looking at the ship. Even the cockpit glass is rounded allowing a better view out the front. Compared to the Andromeda that comes stock with 2 upgrades this ship has 6. 7 if you count the fighter every coni is suppose to have.
Jump drive: allowing you to go system to system exploring.
Ursa rover: for that ground exploration. Armored Personnel Carrier with turret guns and all.
Expanded Fuel Tank: For those extra long trips into the black.
Long Range Scanners: To hunt down and pinpoint from a distance those anomalies other ships cant reach.
x2 Jump Point Navigation Sensors: Double the pleasure double the fun. Twice the power to locate those jump points faster.

If you want a small version of the Enterprise (Or more closely the size, not the shape of Serenity) look no further. This ship has everything you and your 3 friends need to find what is out there in the black. Less combat capable as the Andromeda, she can still hold her own if necessary boasting the same shielding with 1 manned turret and the 4 forward facing size 4 guns. That with her missiles means she can do some damage if you force her hand, but she is designed to explore.

Constellation Taurus:
This coni is as base model as you can get. If you are looking for a simple ship to carry cargo in this is it. She has some punch boasting the same 4 size 4 turrets and manned turret as the Aquila, but carries less missiles. All that with the only additional item being a jump drive she has a lot more room in the middle. But don't let this pot bellied Hill Billy fool ya, she's more than just a pretty face.

One thing RSI does well its design function into everything. Her beds act as escape pods, she has all the amenities of home, and still has the power to take 2 homes with you. As far as what your other 3 friends will be doing is beyond me unless you get in a fight, but you dam well sure can bring 3 friends along.

This ship I believe is designed to be a upgrade from the Freelancer, and when you count cargo units it certainly is, but the Hull C offers more cargo for less crew. Yes this ship will defend itself better than a Hull C, but its a big enough target that if you are transporting expensive goods a escort would still be warranted.

Constellation Phoenix:
If you want to get somewhere, but with as much style as you can muster, get this ship. If you have so much money you are stupid rich, get this ship. If you like the smell of leather covered in hot gold digger women, get this ship!!!!

Beyond that there really is no frakin point in this ship. Crap cargo space (But damped so people cant see what is in it), luxuries you don't need... The only real upgrade here is the larger power plant, the upgraded P-72 Archimedes fighter and Lynx rover. So if you like luxuries and have money to spend get this ship!! So I can blow it up and harvest your tears!!!! MUHAHAHA

If only you could remove all the stuff from the phoenix. I wanted to make a small mobile C&C ship for small patrols. Have a few gladius, gladiators and hornets in a wolf pack searching for roamers and scouts. Use the hornet tracker for recon and searching, let the phoenix have heavy guns and take coordinate attacks. A hornet or gladiator are not going to have the time to spare to coordinate the squadron, but a spare player on a connie will, they will be able to listen to all the chatter while being at the battle and not worrying about piloting or gunning is a big advantage. I guess you could use a andro, but that extra engine size would help in keeping up with fighters.

They have stated that in combat speeds are going to work different. Every ship can achieve the same speed out of combat as long as it keeps accelerating. but in combat certain ships will only be able to go so fast and still manuver. So for fleet movement each ship can keep up and stay together (Might have to wait for the big boys to accelerate) but once combat is engadged each ship is limited in how fast it can go and still do more than fly in a straight line.
That is how i understood it anyways. so in combat its like arena commander where each ship has a different top speed but out of combat every ship can go as fast as it wants as long as you are willing to wait for the acceleration to get you there.

I want/need the Taurus to start off and get used to the merchant aspect of the game, buying/selling/traversing with cargo kind of thing. I don't have it currently, but it would be nice. I feel like starting off in my Banu would be not only risky but probably too big for what I would need right away. Who knows though! Either way I'd like to pick up a Taurus someday. ;)

Freelancer might be a good first step

Combat speed is why i want the extra engIne size. I know from eve that engagments drigt from their location. People bait ships to leave their group to isolate them. When these things happen you need to regroup as fast as possible. If you can have that extra speed to do it then why not use it. IMO speed is one of the biggest factors of combat of small gang warfare.

True.. I guess I am just in love with the aesthetic of the Constellation, and if I'm going to spend any money I might as well wait to save and just spe
its onlynd the extra for a Connie. But, we'll see. Maybe I will get booooth!
Good point, lol, i want both :/ but the connie taurus is only like $40 more than a base lancer so it might be worth just saving for it
